I was at a poolhall tonight and it is realy hot and humid. The AC wasn't working and my hands were sweating. I tried using the towel I had brought to dry my hands and the towel just seemed to make the situation worse, it wasn't very useful. has this happened to anyone else and what kind of towel is best?

100% cotton terry cloth. Make sure no "softeners" or "fresheners" are used in the washing or drying cycles.

I use a microfiber towel (got it at an auto-parts store). Have used it in VERY humid conditions, works great and chalk doesn't seem to soak into it so easily.

They still make cloth diapers? It will be good to know as I age, I hate the thought of all those artificial fibers and compounds touching my skin.

The towel doesn't matter as much as the concentration of chloroform you use as....wait, wrong forum nevermind.

Nothing soak up water like a old cotton t-shirt, and it is a free bee. If you have a few extra bucks, Wally World sells Micro Fibre Towels in their Automotive Department like 8 for 5 bucks.

Microfiber towels are cheap at Dollar General also, and there's the potential added benefit of them sticking together (as microfiber likes to do) and getting 2 packs for the price of 1! I felt ashamed that I got over on Dollar General, but not enough to burn the gas to go back.

Keeping one in the case is good for sweaty hands, when the restroom is out of towels (you wash your hands, right?), and for wiping chalk off of tips before putting cues inside cases.
