The most dangerous player is the guy that in his heart truly believes that he is going to beat you.

Those are the ones you make the most money off of, they just don't know when to give up.:D

In my humble opinion the most dangerous player knows when to shoot and when to hide.

LOL, You're all wrong!!!!!!!!!!!

The most dangerous player is the guy who tries to break the second ball in as hard as he possibly can while using a phenolic tip.

Can you say......... DUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D :D :D :p

A dangerous player shoots the same no matter what the score is and can run 7 racks after you just ran 5 on them. They don't lose their head and the idea of losing the set never, ever crosses their mind.

What makes a player dangerous?

Well I think it's a 60" cue and a looonng backstroke in a tight spaced pool hall.
If you've tried to make your way through an establishment like this with a beer in your hands you know what I mean.

What makes a dangerous player is when you beat a guy and you go to get paid and he pulls out a gun and says you ain't gettin paid sucka !!!!!!!!! now that's a dangerous player !!!!!!!!!!!!!

how do you define danger.

I think the purpose of this thread is to figure out what makes someone deadly on the pool table, meaning a dangerous person to play, meaning someone you probably wouldn't want to bet. Forst and foremost it is someone who's a VERY good player, i.e. can string together multiple racks. The second thing is that they are unknown. If those two things are true, then they are a dangerous player.

The most dangerous player is one who believes in himself - it doesnt matter what level he plays at.

I have to challenge.

I know people that have more heart than the rest of the pool room put together, and they just cannot succeed.
They can't be dangerous if they can't run out consistently or constantly makes bad choices at the table. Maybe if someone with a lot of heart gets to a higher level, then you have the makings of a champion, but not if they fail to get the bigger picture.

Personally, i feel that the most dangerous people i have ever come up against, were not the ones who were playing consistently at a high level, but the ones who were capable of catching a gear.

High level and GEAR are 2 different things to me.

To watch someone go from a playing solid pool, and then watching them hit top gear to a level that is of stellar proportions is truly amazing to watch.

THAT'S a dangerous player, because you never know how they are going to play, what to expect, and when it is all going to change.

A player who can leave the cue ball *exactly* where they want, and if playing a safety, can quickly determine all possible options an opponent will have if the CB is left in a particular place.

Myself, I may play a safety which covers shots going this way, that way, and another way, but I may miss a shot my opponent will have going yet another direction. I just did not see it! The dangerous player would have seen it and left the CB in a better (or worse for opponent) spot.

"What makes a dangerous player " LOL I would have to say, a player with bad gas that realy makes it dangerous and you may drop your cue to avoid the stink.....:p :D

The most dangerous player IMHO is the guy who runs 95, busts open the rack, gets a horrible scratch/roll, reaches into the pocket, hands you the cueball, and sais,.....your turn!....no emotion, no spazzin out, just ice cold. Yea it happened to me, i was rattled as could be. I try to incorporate that into my game a little.I guess the term is "table presence"..........Gerry
