Looks like a Champion Pro. Nice table and room.

That would be my guess also. They come in quite a variety of finishes as well according to their website. There are a couple of Olhausen dealers that post here so I'm sure they can confirm it.

You guys are right. That's a Champ Pro. Most of them come in the flat black finish like the tables on tv. Those in the picture look pretty nice though! Where is that room located?

I dont know what pool hall that is. I just found the room on google. The reason I was asking is because I am picking up a 7 ft olhausen champion TODAY!!! Can you guys tell me what the average price on these tables would be today for a used one in good condition would be? I just wanna see if I got a good deal or not.

I bought a 9' used from a very good friend of mine for $2000. I good a pretty good deal. 7' I'd say pretty close to the same.

Sweet! Im feeling pretty good right now since I got it for $650. I just got it set up an hour ago and it really does play great.

The only crappy design flaw, in my opinion, is the long 1 piece sub-rail and the side pocket issue. I know Donny had in mind "the installer", but jeebus. The good cloth always tears at the side picket slate cut because the pocket liner is so damn close. There is a fix, but is quite extensive. Router to route out the sub-rail deeper for the pocket liner, and of course fiberglass to reinforce the sub-rail so it doesn't break when servicing. That is my only peeve about the olhausen grand champion pro, and champion pro tables... Of course there is a version of the table that has a the long sub-rail with an elipse edge to cease the felt tearing issue maintaining the sub-rail strength.

I've got a Grand Champion and a Champ Pro in my room and have installed several of both over the course of my carreer. Never had that problem. Could it be something else?

No, its a Champion Pro Version 2.., You can tell from the 1 piece radius legs, where version 1's are square on the bottom of the legs.. The felt tearing issue more often shows up from lots of use in commercial applications.

Right...a Post-2006 Champ Pro. When this was first posted I was thinking the point (tit) of the side pocket cutting the cloth was the problem. Most of the time that cutting inside the pocket is from bangers banging. LOL I always reinforce the pockets with an extra strip of cloth on drop-pocket tables without leather pockets. Helps pad that spot where the ball rebounds hard off the back of the pocket. The pockets have a small angle at the top of them that helps direct the ball down into the pocket but when the bangers bang, sometimes the ball bounces back to hit the slate. That might help if it hasn't been done already.

good table

I got one of these in Houston for 2K, great table... Just make sure you have plenty of shims. Took me 4 hours to level it with help from "little bubba". Also make sure you take the time to ensure corner pockets are even prior to tightening the rails. I play one pocket and the right bottom corner was off by almost 1/4", it does make a difference.

A few questions about these tables.

How are the pockets on these tables? Are they bolt in, or nail? Compared to GC and Diamond, how do the balls pocket?

They are a nail-in heavy plastic bucket pocket. Compared to a Gold Crown, they are a bigger pocket, but because of the different shelf dimension and facing angle, they actually reject more balls, especially when shooting down the rail with speed. To give you an idea, I had a triple-shimmed GC1 that played PRETTY tight, but my Champ Pro is sometimes more frustrating to play on with just the factory shims.

A Pro-cut Diamond is going to play a bit more brutal still. The Diamond pocket system is superior to any other manufacturer out there though with the flush-mount leather pockets.

I hope I've answered your questinos. If you have any others, please let us know.
