What Not to do with your pool cue

Whenever I have to leave my pool cue in the car, I make sure to leave a bottle of water right next to it (just in case ;) )

I have to say I'm guilty of this sometimes...but I play with a players cue so I don't feel too bad about it.

A good case for a carbon fiber or titanium "trunk cue"...not that I'd ever want to have my friends see me playing with one...

I inadvertently did this very thing several days ago, fortunately it was not that warm out and I did leave my cue in the case (for the most part). I'm usually pretty good at removing it from my vehicle but old age must be catchin' up...

No harm done as far as I can tell.

You heard the saying "there's no such thing as a dumb question? " That saying just got flipped,,,,,,,,,

Jack Madden has a set of videos on cue care...in one of them he explains that you cue "likes" the same conditions you do...so if you keep your cue in the same envrionment you keep yourself in, it should remain in good shape.

On the other hand, I'd never subject my cue to some of the conditions I've been in on hunting trips. Guess that means I think more of my cue than I do myself.

Who needs a couple of szamboti ski poles. :sorry::D

My car got stolen in Seattle with everything i owed in it. Left it alone for 10 minutes and it was gone... EVERYTHING including my two beautiful custom cues and case. I was to say the least devasated and crushed by this.

So when i got my car back (completely empty) i learned never to leave anything valuable in your car ever!! Not even for a second.

My instructor heard about my misfortune and my lack of luster to play anymore since i had no cue and lost my confidence. So being a loving and kind spirit that he is he sent me a new custom Hammond cue and case!!! To this day i honor him (always did but this is different) and thank him for getting my game back with a gift that will be passed down through the generations.

So that being said no matter where i go i take my cues out of the car and have it by my side. I know to some this is excesive but it was a gift from a very special person and if i ever lost it or had it stolen i could never forgive myself. Funny but the non-playing folk that i hangout with when i do this think im nuts but im not leaving $2,000 worth of pool cues and case in my car for someone to lift.

I know the stroy above is a little off topic but i was just making a point.. In a nut shell NEVER leave your cues in a car... It can only damage them or you could lose them forever... :(
