Hey guys,

If someone orders 2 identical cues, except one is 59 inches and the other is 58.....where is the extra inch? Is the wrap area just one inch longer? or is spread out over the whole butt?

Just curious,
Ian

Cue Length

I add an extra 1/2 inch to the butt and extra 1/2 to the shaft....

If someone wants a standard shaft. Then the extra inch goes in the handle for me.

I like to add extra length to the forearm. If someone wants a longer cue, they will probably never need the front section of a wrap anyway. If it's wrapless, I try to keep a good symmetry between the forearm/grip area/buttsleeve.

Guys, my first message was kinda confusing...what part of the BUTT would you place the extra half inch? forearm? Wrap? etc.

Sheldon,

Thanks for the response, so does that mean the points would still be the typical length but the "nose" of the forearm would be where the extra 1/2 inch is?

Thanks again,
Ian

It just depends on the individual cue... Most likely, the points (if they exist) would also be a little longer to keep everything balanced. I might not be the best person to respond here, since I do everything custom, in the true sense. YOU would need to tell me where you want the extra length, if that was an issue that came up when building a cue. If I were to build a long cue on spec though, I would probably do as I said before, make the forearm a bit longer. If it had points, I would probably make them a bit longer too. We are talking about something like a 5% difference though, so it's not a big deal.

When someone orders a longer cue, I spread it across the three butt sections and the shaft.
