What pics are needed to identify my GC?

I picked up a Gold Crown yesterday but I'm not 100% sure which it is. It's sitting in my basement fully disassembled and won't be put together until I move into the new house in 2 months (yeah, it's gonna drive me nuts, but I had to jump on the deal).

I'm wondering what parts/pieces I'd need to post pictures of for you guys to help me identify the generation? From my limited research, I'm thinking it's a 3, but I certainly wouldn't bet money on that. I can tell you that it's got the "textured bronze" pocket castings (without Brunswick logo) and feet and copper colored rail edge trim but not sure if that's generation specific.

Let me know what you guys needs pics of to solve my semi-mystery and I'll be glad to post (besides.. gives me another reason to hang out around the table that I can't play on).

Thanks!

Post a few pictures of the bottoms and ends of the rails.

Here are a few of the rails. Sorry, I'm definitely not a photographer :)

Table

GCIII
ship the rails to mark gregory while the table sits there till you move, The table willl play lights out with a rebuild.
His rail work makes the GC play to full potential.-
Someone powder coated the castings.. Maybe bobby deturk and company could help you out with the setup and rebuild..
How do you plan on setting the table up? Yourself?

I'm an engineer by trade, I build some of the best custom rifles available as a hobby, and there aren't many things I've ever said I can't fix. What does that mean as relates to pool tables? It means I know I won't be setting my own table up! :)

I plan on contacting a qualified mechanic to handle the setup and I'll be checking prices on rail work and the sort. Out of curiousity, what leads you to believe the castings have been re-coated? It may be my horrid photography or the dust on the castings throwing off the color, but they don't appear to have been re-coated based on the sharpness of the lettering/numbering on the bottom of the parts. If they have been, I want to track down the company that did it because it's *really* good work.

ETA: Looking at the ball box and looking at pics of other ball boxes, it appears that the Brunswick logo usually has paint fill in it.

Where did you buy the pooltable?

Location wise, it came from the Northern Virginia area. As far as it's history, I know it's last "setup" location was a short stint in a failed restaurant a couple of years ago.

Further research on the table and inspection of the individial parts has only furthered my confusion. The frame of my table appears to be a GC4 frame (based on the illustrations in the GC3 and GC4 manuals, but the trim/castings/feet appear to be GC3 style and one of the corner castings is dated 1991.. Still thoroughly confused.

Table

Glen did not elaborate much. I'm sure he is busy,
Brunswick was in a transition from the 3 to the 4 so they used up what they had in inventory.
It's kinda common to run into tables like you have.

Much thanks to both of you for the ID! I was pretty sure it was a 3 but the frame and date on the casting threw me off. Didn't occur to me that Brunswick would mix/match during a model update. Castings likely came off another table.

Thanks again guys!

Original GC castings never look like that, they have a solid finish, which always wears away, causing many to paint or powdercoat the castings to improve their look.

This link shows what the castings looked like when original.

GC IV also came equipped with screws in frame to level the slate. I agree its a GC III. I have a friend who have the same one and the guy said it was a 4 but after i delivered it and set it up i noticed it did not have the holes in the frame for the screws and it didnt have the original slate
