I like darker rooms with overhead lamps. I also prefer rooms that sell no alcohol and offer healthy alternatives to blood-mud food. I don't mind music as long as the volume is low.

I'm with you, but I haven't seen a hall that doesn't serve alcohol in many years. It was common back in the day (we are talking 60's and 70's), but now days, most are loud, with a lot of loud drunks in them as well (just what I like, a lot of loud music with even louder drunks when trying to play:angry:). Where I play it is dark, the 9 foot tables are in a room by themselves, and the speakers are turned completely off in the 9 foot room).

Now that my wife and I are seniors, lol. We play at the center for us old folks (we are both 52). It's cheap, smoking isn't allowed (with all the oxegen tanks you know), and no music except for the live country bands on tues and sat when the stay open late. There's never any wait as we go in the evening after work and just a few are there.
It's not perfect, but the tables are in great shape, and as a added perk the old guys are showing us all the moves they learned over the years.
Anyway here are a few pics.
They have carom billard table.
Two snooker tables
Five 4x8 tables

Damn, can I come live with YOU????:thumbup:

I like variety. I like different types of lighting as well as atmospheres. I enjoy the camraderie of my peers but also enjoy the fresh perspectives that newbies have to offer about a wide range of things.

In a dark pool room, I like to see a pool table in the distance with just one light illuminating it with the rest of the surroundings muted. The player in this case is traveling in and out of the dimension of light, like a time traveler.

This is the type of room I would like to go to:
