What do you guys recommend to get, I need a good set of balls for my home table, need it to play well, durable and not breaking my bank, what are my options and I love to hear pros and cons and advices, thanks in advance.

P/s: I have a 9-ft GC 3 and Simonis 860 in tournament blue

For value, nothing comes close to the Dyasphere Tungsten set. They are as good as the $400 Aramith Tournament set, and are $100 new on ebay. The colors are funky, however. The Dynasphere Silver set costs about $150 and has standard colors.

You've got a 9ft GC 3 with Simonis 860 in tournament blue? Then suck it up and get a set of Brunswick Centennials for $300 used:

Or, $400 new:

You can always panhandle for $1.25 per day for one year. It shouldn't be hard--you can do it on your way to work.

Get the new set of Centennials…….then either hand polish or get a single or multi ball polisher.
You’ll appreciate it in the long run. I bought a BallStar 25 years ago and have zero regrets. I have
3 sets of Centennials. IMO, there isn’t a more handsome design, better colors or quality around.
Then get a travel case because once you play with this set, you’ll always want to play with it. I do.

I got a set of dynasphere balls coming for christmas. My wife never knows what to get me so that’s what I told her. They seem to get great reviews and the Set I got is like $110 . The funny thing is I have a couple different sets And I always seem to go back to my centennials. Can’t beat a classic I guess.

I’m quite surprised no recommendations for Aramith yet. I thought when it comes to balls, it has to be Aramith (just like Simonis for table felt). There are so many options and prices just for Aramith, I narrow down to 3 options:
- Cheap: just get a standard set for ~$100 plus a 6-red-dot cue (~$50) for a total around $150. this is what I grew up watching and playing, classic purple 4 and orange 5…
- Mid-range: a tournament / TV set for around $250-$300. It already has red dotted cue ball, I do want a multi-dotted cue ball.
- Suck it up and get the latest (and greatest?) Tournament Black for like $500 that Marchroom has been using in all of tournaments recently.

I heard of Dynasphere, saw them being played in tournaments before, I never played them before, no idea if how good are they…

Also for the commenters who all said Centennials, you guys probably have been around & shooting pool for longer than my age, respect 🫡 my OGs. I wonder why nobody plays with Brunswick balls anymore, just like their GC tables, not seeing them much recently, except Japan Open (another proof that Japanese people are the smartest lol), maybe they don’t sponsor TV tournaments that often anymore… to be honest I never played Centennials but I guess they play as good as classic Aramith. PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY EVERYONE IS RECOMMENDING Centennials 😳?

I’m still waiting for more recommendations… are there more options out there, other than those knock-offs? (I saw a look-alike Aramith Tournament Black on Amazon for like $50, reviews and everything look good, I meant they maybe all come from the same factory in China, same quality, you just don’t pay for Aramith or Brunswick … label price lol)

I have a set of the Dynasphere Bronze that I carry to rooms and They seem to be the best choice for dollars spent. They hold their sheen ( one year now) and cost about a fourth of the high end Aramith and Brunswick sets - that is hard to beat!
All weighed and measured at the same tolerances as super expensive sets, none have developed ball burn marks. They roll and play consistently in varied conditions.

The Bronze had trad. colors, the Silver used grey/silver 6-14balls. Both sets are discontinued but a few are still out there. Vanadium is the new trad. color set that replaced the Bronze.

You can't go wrong with either the Aramith Pro or the Brunswick Centennials. Both are great sets of balls and have been around for a loong time. Go with the set that you think will look the best and YOU like the looks of. I own a Gold Crown also (photo it is my avatar) and I went with the Centennials. If money is tight, look for a set of used balls, or Aramith makes a couple of less costly sets (premium and premiere) that are good quality balls, just not as high a quality or cost as the Pros or the Centennials.

What do you like, what can you afford to spend.

Any Aramith SET.

That's Dynaspher by definition. They are so economical that I splurged and bought the upgrade for the traditional colors too. They stay in the box for guests. I can't wear out the first set. They play nice and remain as clean as any set I have ever played with.

Aramith Duramith tournaments at about $370 shipped. Their highest quality Aramith balls. They are used, but only for a couple days, at ea WPBA tournament.

You would need to buy a set of Aramith with the Duramith Technology which limits you to their most expensive sets and even then they may be only as good as any set in the Dynasphere line. Less expensive Aramith sets don't come close. Dynasphere appears to be the way to go where the OP indicated a budget. A used set of Aramith tournaments may be good, but I can sell new sets of $406 Dynasphere Gold for far less.

Super Aramith Pro is best bang for buck out of the high end sets in my opinion. If you wait for bed bath and beyond to have a 25% off coupon you can get them for about ~$300 out the door.

Dynaspheres Bronze new if you can find them. The replacement is the Vanadium with an "upgraded" 2 triangle cue ball. Traditional colors, stay clean and play great.

Kozoom has the Vanadium sets on sale for about $120 USD. Free shipping and no tax if you spend $200 on your order. I did a group buy for their cue balls last time. Who knows, maybe I will do another group buy?

On another note, I might sell my used bronze set will original cue ball in very lightly used shape (other colored balls were used more). @july9x, PM me for more info and pictures if you are interested in my used set.

I did some "search" and for now I really want to try out the "Dynaspheres" balls, in traditional color, that everyone everywhere I saw said they are as good and durable as the high end $300-$500 Aramith and Predator ones, and cost only 1/2 or 1/3.

I'm just gonna get an additional multi dotted cue ball on the side (I can't stand playing the all-white cue ball lol) and call it a day, question #1 is which cue ball to get, a good old Aramith, or maybe try to find a dotted Dynaspheres to match the brand??? Good thing is that all of that, a ball set + cue ball, will cost me around $200, I'm def. in for that if the quality of Dynaspheres is the same as rumored lol.

Problem and question #2 is that I can't find a new Dynaspheres Bronze or Dynaspheres Vanadium set anywhere here in US, I prefer new because they are already at a reasonable price and I don't know what is "used", could be few home games or could be banging for years in pool halls lol, my fav website Saybert is out of stock for Dynaspheres. Help...

There is no current USA distributor for Dynaspheres (trust me, I checked before I did my Rhodium 6 triangle Dynaspheres cue ball group buy purchase from Kozoom). Best way is the link I sent you with free shipping and no european tax plus they are on sale now, just have to spend over 200 euros on your purchase. All the Dynaspheres current line (besides gold and silver) use the same resin, which is great, rest is just appearance preferences, and I would use their cue balls with their sets (again, I don't like the silver and gold sets) for best results.
