what shipping place is the best to ship cues

I was wonder what shipping place people like the most for shipping cues like dhl, ups, companys like that. I shipped out a cue the other day and i shipped it out a day before my budie shipped out a cue and I got mine on monday and it said on the tracking that he won't get his to wednessday seems kind screw up to me...

Thumbs DOWN for FedX Ground......

Think how you pack and protect a Cue is the most important thing about shipping a Cue.

Personally I like the U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail & UPS. PLUS. Personally would never use Federal Express Ground for anything again.

Federal Express Ground was used (1) Time to ship to Reproduction Flintlock Rifles to the same address, on the same day. Rifles were shipped in a Wooden Reinforced Box.

Apparently FedX Ran over one of the Boxes with a Semi Truck, and Totally Destroyed the Box and Rifle.

Dealing with FedX’s Claim Service was a NIGHTMARE. NEVER AGAIN.... :(

Contact seyberts.com. They ship cues in nuclear balast proof tubes.

I don't know where they get them but they could advise you or maybe sell you one cheap.

IMHO if the cue is properly packaged you could send it via the Iraq Post Office without much concern.

Maybe you should put this in ask the cuemaker, they ship a lot of cues. ;) Personally, I've had no problem with USPS, but I pack the hell out of them and require a signature on the other end.

I pack mine tightly and ship USPS Priority with a signature as well. I have never had any problems.

Most Hardware Store, Lows, HomeDepot, sell Various Diameter PVC Pipes, also Caps for the PVC Pipes. Very Tough to Destroy unless you Run Over PVC with a Semi.

Wrap Cue in Baby Flannel (a very soft cloth), and Ship in the PVC Pipe. Use DUCK TAPE to Secure the Caps on the PVC PIPE....

For expensive cues, like $400 or more, I use two day FedEx air Tubes purchasing damage coverage, using bubble wrap inside the tube. They have a superior tracking and insurance system and competitive rates for like services. This helps a lot if there is a mistake on the address label or a problem delivering to the address.

For less expensive cues to save money, I use USPS priority mail with a confirmation. I've had bad luck with UPS. Their tracking system is terrible and the boxes seem to arrive all banged up.

I have sold hundreds of cues into the several thousand dollar range and have never had a problem with Fed Ex. I had one insurance claim on Fed Ex where I sent a cue to a repair shop. The cue and box had damage and I received a check for damage coverage within a few weeks.

For any serious cue, I use Fedex priority overnight. And I take the package to Kinko's about a half hour before the drop off deadline. That way it is in their hands for the least amount of time. This service type guarantees delivery by 10:30am, so Fedex has it for less than 15 hours. The only downside is that if you have a claim, they will probably not pay the full amount of insurance you pay for, so be sure to over estimate the value just in case.

For me, all the cues I sell domestically are shipped with USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. I also ship using USPS Express Mail service with is a next day delivery to most areas. Its cheap compared to UPS/FedEx overnite service. For international customers, I ship using USPS Global Express Mail. Its a 3-5 business day service and again very cheap compared to others.

nice call Doozie, I believe usps is the best way to go.

If what you are shipping needs attention, and is are and valuables. The U.S. Post Office offers REGISTERED MAIL, that basically is kept under Lock & Key from the time it is received, until the time it is delivered. Costly, not really when you consider the aggravation of a Potential of a Collectable.

The PVC tube offers great protection, but it is a good idea to put the tube (any mailing tube used for cues) into a square or triangular box. As pointed out in somebody's post in a different thread, all the majors use many, many feet of automated conveyor lines in their sorting/shipping facilities. Tubes have a propensity to roll off these lines - usually into the most remote/untraveled parts of the building. So use something that doesn't roll!

Just my $.02 worth.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

fedex economy(3 business days) if the cue has little value. overnight for your pride and joy.
