Question and I dont know if this is where I should be asking it, but...

How much should it cost to have a cue refinished?

and How much should it cost to have a leather (alligator texture) wrap put on one?

The cue Im asking these questions in regard to is a Lucasi that has sentimental value (my first "real" cue, and my first ever gift from my wife almost 10 years ago)... It's not an expensive cue, obviously but for sentimental reasons I'd like to have it restored...

Also, When I got it someone put one of those "X breaker" things on the butt... so I don't have the original Butt plug (I think thats what you call it) the rubber plug in the bottom of the cue... WHere can I get one of these things?

Why don't you put this in the "Ask The Cuemaker" section too.

Muellers sells some styles of buttcaps you could check there. Maybe Atlas Billards too. I would think though that if you have a cue repair person refinish it, he'd also be able to get a hold of the proper butt cap.

I would expect a new leather wrap to run 150 to 250 bucks depending upon who is doing it.

I haven't had a cue refinished in a while so I haven't a guess on that.

Try taking a look herehttp://www.proficientbilliards.com/cuerepair.htm click on the work order form to see his prices.

Also try PMing ratcue, he does Mueller's work and I hear he is pretty good.

Paul Mottey charged me $150.00 about one year ago to refinish a cue he made in 1987. It already had a leather wrap.

lol, so $300 for a refinish & wrap? Prolly about wut the cue cost brand new. But, I have never seen a lucasi like it before (someone my wife knew won it in a tourney)... and it does have sentimental value so...

I posted a question in "Ask the Cuemaker" that is something like yours and I got a lot of replies and about 4 or 5 private messages from cuemakers saying that would do what I wanted done for me.

Thanks everyone.

Steve, dude wut happened I thought we were gonna hit some balls around? Why not come to the Big O's Sunday tourney sometime?... or meet me for some games at STrokers Tampa...

$85 for the finish work
$75 for embossed alligator
$5 for the bumper

Same amount of work for a cuemaker/repair guy regardless of the original price of the cue. The prices ratcues quoted are pretty damn good.

Yeah, Ive been playing in it pretty regularly. (6 times) It's double elimanation 9 ball tourney, with some handicapping. Starts at 4pm. But... it runs LONG. I've had to withdraw from it 3 times while still in it, because it was running really long... The one time I did stay all the way it was 1am+ when we decided to chop 1st, 2nd, 3rd... Some real solid players (I got to play against Tony Crosby in it a few weeks back) and it's only $7... for that its worth the free pool time, They do have great equipment, all brand new 9 foot gold crowns. 20+ tables. winner usually gets $100+. Top 8 get paid.
