For the purpose of this poll I have included the shafts which are sold generically for all cues.

If I have missed any please let me know the brands.

only other one I have owned is the Lucasi 8 piece radial spliced which played damn good, but only comes on 2 of their models.....mine was the LE-27 which was a hell of a cue for $208 shipped!

now I have an OB-1.
 
I own a predator which I used with my McDermott, but it has just been hanging on the wall since I got my first custom cue 5 years ago. Once I hit with the custom shaft I couldn't stand the Predator anymore. I also tried an OB-1, but didn't like it and gave it away.
I have a bunch of cues and rotate through them using whatever shaft came with them.
 
Have a Predator but

I got it along time ago for my first production cue (Falcon) and used it on
my next cue a plain six point Josey and had him match the ring work.
But as my tastes in cues got more expensive I thought I shoud be giving
their shafts a chance. I havn't used the Pred in years now, and I feel that
the Hit and Feel of every cue is subjective to what the individual holding it
likes. I now base my collection on what I feel are the highest quality and
playabilty. My eight point Boar so far is the NUTS:D
That said I just ordered a Tiger X with their phenolic insert at the joint.
I hit some at the SBE with Corey and feel these shafts fall in between a
Pred and many stock shafts, this will go on my everyday player a Scruggs

I have the same model as Gerry. The LE-27 is really nice balanced cue. However, when I put a Z shaft on it, the cue becomes butt-heavy. And mine is already 17.5. What causes that?

probably because the z shaft is lighter than the lucasi shaft causing the balance point to change. you could move the balance point back up by removing/lightening the weight bolt, but that will change the weight of the cue. another good option is to use a headless weight bolt which will move the weight further into the cue and not have it all at the end.
 
i like the tiger the best, i dont use it much but i do like it. With the OB-1 I cant control the CB-but its fun to watch what it an do. I like old school shafts, perhaps if I could play enough I would put the time into really getting adjusted to a lamented shaft.

Bill Donminiak, a Q maker from NY make a spliced shaft called the Dominator. Shoots great and he just came out with the Dominator II. I have one ordered, but have not tried it yet.

I have owned and played with every one you mentioned with the exception of the Tiger. I have always gone back to the traditional shafts made by the cuemaker of my custom cues.

Since then, I have sold all of my LD shafts, no plans to go back to them. Love my Madden shafts!
