Does have an AA feel to it... "Hi, my name's Louie, and I'm a pool-a-holic."
I'm not a septuagenarian yet, but back when I first started with computers there were really lousy message boards and Usenet groups, way before these forums existed. I'm also not too big a fan of the current social media, though I do understand that's the way things are going today. Now they want to control what news is "real" and "fake". I actually liked Myspace better than FaceBook. Oh well....
But you got to love it - one person complaining that new posters go out the gate joining in on conversations without a formal introduction, and another complaining that new posters make compliments on another person's cues to boost their post count? So, new members should act like zombies till their post count reaches 3000? Wha? This whole thread all the sudden doesn't make sense. Call them out right then and there! Why make a separate thread about it? Confrontation by non-confrontation? Great way to grow the sport; no wonder it's dying a slow death.
