I've been trying new tips but i can quite find what i'm looking for. I keep coming back to LaPro's Med-Hard but they just don't hold up very well and i'm tired of replacing or messing with them. I'm looking for a simular hit and play without all the hassle. Price isn't a concern. Thanks,

If you're looking for a similar hit, I'd say go with Sniper. You won't have to mess with them and they'll last forever.

sniper? Hmm, I have tried the everest, but they were just a little soft. Thanks,

You might want to give the Hercules 2 a try.

I play mostly One Pocket and have been using Talisman Pro Soft for about 3 years and replaced the first after about 18 months.
For 8/9 Ball I use another shaft/cue with a Talisman Pro Medium. It has lasted for a couple years but doesn't get used that often.
Another good choice would be Triangle, but it's more of a medium/hard tip.

I second that...

I use a Hercules medium hard layered tip, and they do real good.
I have been real pleased with Hercules.

The other one I have heard some good things about is Talisman's layered
medium hard tip.

Jack Madden turned me on to Tiger Hard Tips, i fell they are the BEST TIPS

This THREAD is like asking 100 People in Downtown Los Angeles what is the BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT.

My reply would be Man Fook Low, @ 10th & San Pedro, others would have their Favorites Also.

Opinions are like NOSES, we all have ONE No one is Wrong, No
One is 110% Correct....

No, it's not... the original poster was very specific - he is looking for a tip that hits like a Le Pro medium but holds up better.

That would be more like asking a group of people who are likely to be Chinese restaurant experts for a restaurant with food similar to Shin Hook Fu's but with better quality...

Give the guy a break. Oh, and I'll also go along with the Moori Mediums.

I think the LePro hits more like the Moori Slow. I checked the hardness reading on my Mueller catalogue regarding various tips, and it seems that the Moori Slow is slighty harder than the Lepro. Therefore, I believe Moori slow might hit close to a Lepro but last longer.

... but aren't Lepros notoriously varied in their actually degree of hardness?

I had a LePro one time that was so soft you could reshape it with your fingers. If you a got a good one they were hard to beat.

Yes, you are right. I based my suggestion on the readings I obtained. I think you are right though, the lepros are very inconsistent so it is hard to compare it to a much more consistent tip such as Moori.

That's why I invested in a Type D Durometer.
