I used and prefered le pro for years, installed many for the guys in my pool league. I swore by them and said i would never goto a moori cause of the price. Well in vegas one year a guy had a good deal on some moori's so i bit. Well needless to say no more le pro for me. They mushroom easily and i have had some that the side would fall out leaving a cave in the side of it. The other posters have mentioned the inconsitency and that is true. Had many differentg hardness from the same box. Moori medium is what i prefer. Took no time to adjust to and they last for ever. I shape it only after installing it and never touch it again.

I switched from lepro to a tailsman med and then to a everest. I actually like both the tailsman and the everest quite a bit. The everest I think plays better, but it took me a couple weeks to get used to how it plays.
Played lepro's for about 15 years, and finally switched last year. Glad I did.

sniper tips are the best IMO i love them.

I am puzzeled as to why you shoot with a Triangle if you like the super hard hit of a Champion. I shoot with a Triangle also, but it has a much softer feel than Champion. If you want the hard feel of the Champion get a Sumo water buffalo tip. Press it in a vise before putting on and cut the tip down low like the Champions were. I see many people prefer the layered tips. I had a Moori for an hour or so and went back to Le Pro. I paid $25 for the tip and absolutely hated it. The tip had the proper arc the problem was with edges of the layers and the click sound when I hit the ball. I could feel little steps of the layers along the arc with my finger. If you don’t understand what I am talking about, draw a circle on the computer. Look at the circle; you can see that the lines are little squares (square pixels) offset to make the shape. It is not a smooth curve. How do you shape the tip to avoid this or is that normal.
I love my Sniper. I have tried Moori's, Talisman's, Hercule's and many other layered tips and none have the feel and consitency my Sniper has.drivermaker said:

I inspected the tip it was fully glued. The tip just made a different sound. I could have adjusted to the new contact sound. The edge of the layers is what I didn't like. I felt that it might lead to a miscue. I would really like to know if everyone can feel the layers edges on the tip after it is shaped???
I would like Mike W, to post on this. From what I have seen on here I would take his post as the Gospel on technical cue Q & A…

The click sound is probably not something that's the result of layered tips. I've never had a tip with a 'click' sound. I did have a click sound that was from the fact that the tip wasn't glued onto the ferrules correctly.

Right now I am using the unkept lepro on the local house cue lol!!!
sandpaper to shape the tip. I tried a cue lathe, it didn't work well.

I have tried quite a few tips in the last 18 years. I finally found a tip that I have stayed with for the last 4 years. The Water Buffalo Medium tip from Talisman Billiards gave me more feel and the least amount of maintenance of all the others I have tried. I admit the Moori Med is quite similar, but I like the feel and the price of the Talisman much better.
