I just moved from a Moori to a Sniper and I must say that I think I am in love with the Sniper. We might get married if I ever buy the ring.

I have two Moori quicks I'll never use, anyone have some really hard Triangles they'd be willing to trade?.

No but I have some water buffalos(really hard, not the layered WB's either). You want?

I recently switched to good elkmasters and good LePro's. Ben Tubbs puts them on for me.

Over the years I have tried a few different tips, LePro, Triangle, Hercules, Moori, Everest and Sniper are among them. I sincerely believe that among all of those the Triangle is far and away the hands down best value and an excellent tip.

BTW--has anyone tried StingRay tips? I installed one for a friend over a year ago and it's still in fantastic shape. Recently, my friend let me shoot a few games with his cue and I had no complaints or quibbles about the StingRay.

I'm playing with a Stingray on a Billy Webb cue now, and it's real hard, I like the hit it gives, needs no maintenance what so ever.

What's a Jensen milk dud. Anything different from just soaking a lepro or elk master in milk for a day, and then squeezing progressively harder in the vice?

Same deal...some use fruit juice though. ;)

I shoot with a LePro, mainly because that was the one on my cue when i bought it. I'm going to try a moori or sniper when my LePro is worn out but for now it gets the job done.

All that matters at the end of the night is your own honest answer to this personal question : "did it(and I) get the job done?"

If I could have an everest tip that holds up like a sniper, I'd be all over it. for me, the everest on the z-shaft I used to have was the grippiest tip I've ever had. The sniper I just got on my varney hustler doesn't quite grip as much as a freshly shaped everest, but it absolutely reduces maintenance... and I don't have any business putting that much spin on the cueball anyway :D haha

No thank-you.:) I do have some Sumo and WB at home but they're a little too hard for my player. I've given almost every layered tip a try and just don't like them as much as a decent Triangle. Problem is, no one seems to have any decent Triangles.:)

I've come to the conclusion that I don't care what brand tip I use. I like it to be hard enough that it doesn't mushroom on me after break in. I've used Triangles for so many years, and will recommend them highly. But, a good LePro is no worse. The problem is that it seems to be getting tougher to find the good ones in a box. I used to never find a bad Triangle, and now half in a box I'd be better off tossing away.

So, lately I've been putting layered pig/boar tips on my cues, since 99% of them will be good right from the get-go. Moori, Kamui, Talisman, Hercules you name it. I don't think anyone would be able to tell which one played any different than the other. They all sound the same, and in a dark bark, with the chalk on the tip, I can't tell the difference.

Fred

I'm using a Sniper on my main playing cue and a "hammered" Elkmaster on my backup cue.

Sniper seems more consistent and requires less work but both play well and grip the ball well.

Hey, I got some real good (hand picked for hardness and shape) Triangle tips I'll trade you for those Mooris. How about 5 Triangle for two Moori?
