What tip is this?

I just bought this used but mint condition Big Beulah 2 break cue. This is the tip it has. What is it? A friend bought a brand new Big Beulah 2 and last night we were comparing them. His ferrule looks the same but his tip is black. His has not been changed (has whatever they ship them out with, Bakelite?) so he thinks mine has.
Mine chalks just like my phenolic tip on my other break cue (poorly).
Any ideas? Thanks!

Thanks guys. The color was throwing me off along with its a different tip than my friends BB2.

As Joey mentioned, a fine weave canvas phenolic.

Switch to a Taom Tip. You will not regret it. I purchased a few and put one on my Joss Breaker.

A tad more expensive than others but you will instantly feel the difference. I am on my second League Season with mine, and I have not had to
scuff or do anything with it.

If it continues like this, I fully suspect that a Taom is a Life Time tip, unless you knock it off the ferrule.

Another thumb up for Taom from me, they work brilliantly in both breaking and jumping. Requires almost no maintenance after installing. Better have a lathe though when putting one on if you want it to look nice
