What To Do Here?

I think it depends on whether you're going to hit the 7 fairly full, or only half full, or just clip the edge of it...

Based on the diagram, even with a rolling cueball you will be hitting the 7 pretty full. If that happens the cueball dies and won't come off at the nice angle needed to do what I rack balls suggested (which is just how I'd play it, if I could be sure I'd only be clipping the edge of the 7 rather than hitting it in the face).

If it turns out you must hit it pretty full and follow or draw can't abvoid a pretty full hit, there's one other way to play it. This shot is so theoretical that you'd probably have to smoke carpet fibers just to consider playing it. Normally I'd try rod's safety instead of this:

The idea is to play a double kiss from the 7 ball, hoping it kisses back into the cueball at a happy angle that sends it up table.

You have been watching that Afro painter guy too much...Painting the happy trees and happy little birds... ;)

I see the creativity in the shot, but I tend to think that if you caught the 7 full it would send the ball at a slight angle and would not re-contact the CB...or the CB would carom off just a little and not get the double kiss...

I would probably opt for a hard draw shot before I tried the double kiss. :)

my apologies to any and all i may have offended. it was late last night, just had a miserable date (she was 46, looked 56, acted 66) and when i got home i spend about 45 minutes at the table breaking racks of 9-Ball, and never getting any decent chances at running a rack.

With all due respect---It looks like you are having as much of a problem seeing pool shots as you are selecting dates. Maybe you should see an optomitrist!!!

brk: yeah lol that afro happy tree guy taught me to play... I know it seems weird, it's a touchy thing to double kiss cuz if you hit the 7 smack in the face you just move the 7 away and the CB sits there. If you skim off the top of the 7 with some draw, the CB runs sideways and dodges the double kiss. So you have to hit the 7 somewhere between "no CB movement" and "a little movement sideways" to get it. The 7 also has to bank a little sideways to catch the CB.

But set it up sometime and try it, it looks like almost a natural double kiss as diagrammed. Of course move any ball an inch in any direction and it totally changes.

High Right gets you there are long as you dont it the 7 ball full. Low left could get you there as well if you can draw it enough to graze the front of the 7ball. Pool isnt always about running a rack. You need to practice with someone more often. Then you can see there are other ways to win rather then breaking and running.
