what to do.. new cue or no?

I'm 17 and have a Z28 camaro, and as far as gas and insurance goes, as long as the insurance is in your parents name and you don't mod it you will be fine, as long as you have a job and know better than to blow all your money on dumb stufflike drugs and alcohol. You can get a lot more use out of that WS6 than you can out of a pool cue (no offense guys).
P.S. I get 24 mpg highway

Mustangs are a waste, huh? Here's a pic of the one I had from 98-01 - it's a 98 Stage II with a few upgrades on top of that :) ). BTW, The car I blew money on when I was younger (16-17) was a 69 GTO Judge....can I get a big, "DOH!" for selling that one. :)

Well I might get a bigger "DOH" for mine --- sold a 1965 Mustang - Shelby Cobra 350 that is:( Young, dumb, broke, married --- what can you say
btw: insurance was the broke part of the equation. But it sure was a fun ride while it lasted ;) ;) And I don't want to know how much it is worth today - last I heard was 100k+

this is what im thinking.. lol well anyway i know im not going to college im going to my dads footsteps and starting my own business.. my dad now owns 3.. right now im making 13 an hour so im doing alot better than all my friends for money but i plan on buying an already modded ws6 like 17-18k is what i want to spend.. we got the insurance quote and it is 2k a year.. also i plan on buying the car in cash which is why i asked about the cue because if i spend money on the cue i think ill be tempted to spend all my money lol.. as far as the cue maker hes just a really nice guy whos friends with everybody in the area who has no plans on going big although hes good enough too.. he builds cues as a hobby but they do look and play damn good.. thanks for the advise guys

Stick with the SCHON!!!!!!! no point in buying a new cue, when you have a damn good cue right now and know what the cb is going to do when you stroke the cue.

None of you guys have given him the best answer yet:

Step 1: don't spend 800 on a cue. Instead spend 50 on a 2 piece dufferin
Step 2: hit the road. take the dufferin, leave the schon.
Step 3: find bucktooth and play him for his chevy
Step 4: sell the chevy and the schon, buy your trans am
Step 5: race paul walker for pinks
Step 6: sell paul's green eclipse and buy whatever cue you want plus some extra cash in the bank.

Simple right?

Screw the the cue. Screw the the car. Go to college, get a degree, make big bucks and have it all.

On the other hand, you might die tomorrow. So screw that!!!

Fill out every credit card application you can get your hands on. Torch that candle on both ends, and put the peddle to the metal good buddy.

ok guys i have a schon and i love it but my friend builds cues and we were talking about making a bushka/mottey/szamboti knockoff.. he said about 600-800 to make it and im only 17 thats hard money to come by for me.. i have a job and everything but im saving money to buy a ws6 trans am.. now heres where i want help.. would you guys get the cue? what do you think my resale value would be? all his stuff is gorgeous and flawless and he uses radial pins that hit probably as good if not better than my schon.. so would you think i could get a good resale out of it if i decide to get the car?? thanks for the help guys
If you love the Schon then i'd keep it. Unless your friend is a known cue maker you'll lose money putting 600-800 in his cue if you decide to sell it later. With today's insurance and gas prices i'd steer clear of a Trans Am ws6.

just my 2 cents.

And the best answer is....

Take the $$ and enter an IPT event.. Afterall everyone that makes the cut is guarenteed $100 grand, then screw the T/A buy the Corvette, read the book natural cures, learn what drugs are legal, sell them ... make more big bucks then you can afford all the cues you want.............

OH WAIT>>> THAT WAS LAST YEARS INFO,
now you just take the $$ and run like hell!!!!!! Instructions should be on late night infomercials shortly

Since you asked....here goes -

Keep the Schon, and steer clear of the WS6. As stated by another poster...the insurance/gas money is gonna KILL you. I am serious. I am twice your age, and blew all my money back when I was younger on making my car faster, and dumping HUGE loads into the all important sound system in the car too. I'm talkin' $K's and $K's that I'll never get back :) Get yourself a 4 banger Jeep Wrangler. It's still a fun vehicle, is MUCH better on gas, and at least half the price in insurance at your age. Invest all the money you woulda spent instead, and retire younger and get a "REAL" car then, you'll appreciate it more, and no offense, have better taste by then..... :)

I second this.

People used to tell me if only I knew then what I know now. I used to ask "Tell me what is it?" Well there is it is.

I am over 3 times your age so may be you don't want my advise but you asked.

If he's so unknown, his name isn't worth mentioning,
why spend that kind of money on his cue?
And, no, you won't get your money back.
Keep the Schon.

98 was still the slowest year made.... :p

the black notch that you saw in my garage laid down 616/640 single stage (175 shot) on a 306. N/A was 388/401.

Now ask me how much I put in to it vs. how much I got out of it.... (The black GT when finished - that was the day it was purchased - had a P1SC w/ full AC running 11.0's @ 128)

I would cry over the GTO.

a '96 Mustang GT, Deep Violet, 17" Chrome wheels, leather, loaded 5 speed. Loved it, but had to give it up. I blew by a couple of Camaros with it. Had it at 137 one time with pedal still there, was suppose to top out at 149. Insurance cost me $2,000 a year then too.

Keep the Schon.

The 13 bucks an hour is great for ur age, and I ain't disrespecting that, but the world is much bigger than 13 an hour. I ain't trying to lecture you, but your dad's time and your time are two different eras. Back then, you could bypass a university degree and skip straight into your own business, nowadays, the business environment is more competitive, and picking up some additional education doesn't hurt.

Just for your reference, I have started 5 businesses, the earliest one when i was 13 (which was a small little thing), my current business is pretty decent sized (i get interviewed in newspapers and stuff for various advice in my industry), and I am now taking courses here at MIT Sloan and Harvard Business School and I can tell you that while I don't tihnk I am learning HUGE things, there are MANY smart people in this world who always wants to do their own thing, and you need every edge you can get.

Oh well, good luck though. I know chances are you are gonna read this and think "he doesn't know MY situation" or just ignore what i say altogehter, but thats the naivete of youth. I did the same when i was a kid.

Good luck.

My Advise Son!

Take that Schon cue to somebody with a cue lathe. Use some scratch out car polish and then give it a good wax job. Clean that wrap if you have one and get a magic eraser to clean up the shafts like new. This will make your cue look as good as possible. I have cues from 1999 that look very close to new.
Stay in school and save your money. Start saving today. 10% of everything you earn. Don't touch it until you are 59 1/2. Then you can call me and thank me from your mansion.
Purdman:D
You already have a great cue. If you are near Virginia, I will do it for you free of charge.

I don't want your money, I am good to go!

im going to the cuemakers house today in a little while and if i get really wowed then ill buy the cue.. another good thing about it is im learning how to build the cue cause i am building it under his supervision.. as far as the car goes i think im going to just keep putting money aside and let time go by and if i find a great deal on the car and its helping someone in need then i think i will get it.. if not i will put everything aside and start my own business in a year and a half when i graduate

how bout posting pictures of the cue before buying it? so that we can see what you're getting. :D

ya ill probably do that if he decides to build it.. it was gonna be a cue he built for me but he is syked about the idea.. were doing a bushka/szamboti/mottey type cue.. i was gonna get crazy with it.. but i doubt im going to build it now.. if he decides to build it and i fall in love with it ill post pics and probably buy it though
