What to do with a Tim Scruggs cue that needs TLC

Bob Frey would be the man for the job. This cue might end up being a 1500-2000 cue, but no more imo. I think a white delrin butt cap would be perfect and greatly improve the look, but the rounded inlays (esp in the butt) do turn off a lot of would be buyers at the higher price points.

?

OP got his answer.

Spend $500 to 600 on restoring and sell for $3900.

With letter of authenticity too.

whaaaaaat? 4000 bucks for a 4 point veneered linen wrapped scruggs? really? i had no idea? im not saying youre wrong im just saying i wouldnt think it would be worth that much. it wouldnt be worth that new , how could it be worth it after being restored? thats a 1000-1400 dollar cue if its from the good newer makers today. 2000 if its tascerella, lambros. is scruggs worth double those guys? how long has he been retired. i need a new game plan if his cues are worth that much. any info is good info but if youve seen scruggs cues like this sell on here or anywhere how much did they go for? nice cue though no doubt.

IMO Tony, Ken, & Sean are right on the money... cue market for mid level cues is way down but if the Bob does the work you may be able to get respectable $ for it...
