Yesterday there was a Pete Ohmen (Omen cues) Listed on E-bay. I Don't think the auction was over yet. Doe's anyone know whats happened. I was going to bid on it, and today it is gone. Can they do this, There was no reserve on it.

I was watching it and planning to bid as well when I saw it missing this morning. As the auction is gone, there's no way to tell if it had something in it (such as ivory and being offered outside of the US) to cause Ebay to sell it, or if the guy used the "I reserve the right to end the auction at any time" route. I'm sure he didn't like the rpices he was getting and pulled it though.

There was no ivory on the cue, And i did'nt see any right to end early, but there could have been, I to don't think they liked the way it was going, not enought bids, i did'nt think you could just stop the auction. But what do i know.

You "can" stop an auction, as I've seen many just end without a sale while having many bids. I don't know what Ebay does about it, but it's tough to ask them as I didn't keep the auction in my watched items.

A lot of people will stop an auction like that when they feel they are going to take a beating on an item, even when they don't "reserve the right" to end it. They don't want to pay for a Reserve Price up front, and simply choose to end it. You often see these items relisted shortly afterwards.

BTW, I believe a lister can legitimately end an auction for pretty much any reason as long as they are outside the final 12 hour deadline. Read here:

I believe they must cancel all bids first then cancel it.

Here's one for the book. I won a cue (Brunswick by Joss) on e-bay. I immediately paid for it using PayPal. The next day my PP account was refunded. The only reason was the seller advised he did not want to sell the cue that cheap.

I replied back he (SAMHARLICUE) should have set a reserve price and/or started with a higher starting bid. This was NOT a new seller either. I gave him NEGATIVE feedback and filed a complaint with eBay for NONPERFORMANCE.

I have since followed this guy's feedback and he has had similar feedback since then.

I Don't think any of these requirments were meet, he had several bids, Unless he sold the cue to the highest bidder, witch i really don't so,being it was under $300. I could be wrong.
Is'nt a beaten the chance you take when you list on the auctiun BLOCK, I have 100% feedback on e-bay, and i can tell you i have takeing a couple of beatings.

I last saw it right as it was cancelled. He did cancel all bids, as it showed zero bids and the starting price. From what Joe said about the rules for removing an item, he was within the Ebay policy, as the auction had more than 12 hours to go.
