What type of Ferrule do you use?

Before collecting everyone's money for a group order, I'd suggest you get a sample of what you'd be buying so there are no surprises (and/or disappointments).

Atlas carries it, if & when they feel like it. Currently, they don't seem to be in the mood. I hate that. They don't seem to be in the mood to carry other stuff that I need also. Not 'wish-list' stuff either. Stuff I've bought from them in the past.

Screw a bunch of Doodles, I want LBM. Don't try to sell me Aegis when I'm looking for LBM. That's not good business.

I've been a supporter of Atlas in the past and will continue to do so all the way up to the point that they finally piss me off. Then I'll be buying elsewhere. My clients shouldn't be subject to a supplier's mood.

Sorry for the rant. I needed to vent.

I agree. Screw the doodles. I spent $1400 last year with Atlas and I never saw a Doodle. Some of the old stuff they use to carry would be better.

I have been using the Porper ferrules for years. They are strong, lightweight, and machine very easily, unlike some of the other materials mentioned. Somehow, to me, and this is only my opinion, turning ferrules that feel like rock just seems unnatural.

While I have the majority of materials in stock, mainly for the geese that have read something about this ferrule or that tip, and just have to try everything....(god luv em)... if asked what I would recommend, I always suggest the Porper.

> I know this may not be the most popular choice for customers, but once I get my shop up and running my standard ferrule will be good old ivory.

Maybe it's just me,but ivory seems to be the most TONEFUL choice.

If my customers want something else,I'll knock off 50 bucks per shaft. Tommy D.

I recently bought a used Sugartree cue. The tip that came installed did not suit me, so I changed it. However, what surprised me, after reading Qbilders comments about his ferrules, was that the ferrule was capped. My question is, is it possible that someone has changed the original ferrule, and would this affect the hit of the cue, and if so, how.
Really happy with how the cue plays with the new tip (Molavia hard), just curious about the ferrule. Thanks.
