Normal Radial. This is the radial pin version my cue has……..made by Tim Scruggs.
Tim and Mike didn't like the Bullet nose without threads so they cut them off.

Actually that was made by Mike Cochran, it just has Tim’s initials on it. Mike liked to do that shape at the top of his radial pins. This is the radial pin version my cue has……..made by Tim Scruggs.
Yeah, same thought with my first cue joint (5/16 x 18.) That's why I treat my non quick release cues like a Showtime Rotisserie. Set it, and forget it!The only thing I have against radial joints like I have is not being that quick to assemble/disassemble.
Nice looking cue. These are the jp's I ordered and received in the mail today, 3/8x8 :
The photo I attached is with the new protectors on them, and they fit perfectly:
I can say for sure that they work when you drop a cue on the ground. This happened to me, I forgot to close my cue case and both halves of this particular clue fell on the cement and permanently damaged it. It ruined the shaft, and also misaligned the male pin of the butt end. I know for a fact that if I had the pin protectors on my stick everything would have been okay because they landed directly on the joint when they hit the ground. Yes, I should have had my case zipped up, but to err is human. Although, thanks for your comment that really doesn't have any relevance in this particular thread.I don't use joint protectors, I fail to see their point.
Are you saying Mike built this very cue while he was with Tim? Aside from the pin, which you’re saying Tim never used but obviously it came from Tim’s inventory, what else indicates Mike built this cue instead of Tim. I know Tim was the front man and Mike was the behind the scene builder. But based on when Mike passed away, this would have been one of the very last cue he built. The cue was completed in late 2009 and I bought it early 2010. To your way of thinking, Mike likely built most of the cues bearing Tim’s initials that came from Tim Scrugg’s shop.I really dunno nor care but it’d be nice to know the true underlying facts instead of presuming who built the cue. Frosty might be correct. This is the 1st time anyone told me this.Actually that was made by Mike Cochran, it just has Tim’s initials on it. Mike liked to do that shape at the top of his radial pins.
