This is a shot I liked playing in the IBC Japan event when it was getting near the end of the match. If I hit it bad I would have been in big trouble.

Here's a masse I called in bar game once in front of about 10 onlookers. I was practicing my masse shot a bit at the time and considered myself 50% chance to hit the ball.

It went straight in and much mirth and merriment was had, much like in one of Homer Simpson's dream sequences :D

A year back our esteemed member Colin (see post #2 in this thread) posted a little challenge, an "impossible shot". He offered a bunch of routes for solutions, and several interested me to the extent that I practiced them. About a week after that I was playing a friend and he locked me up good. I'm not a bad kicker, but ol' Johny figured he had me and started woofing a bit. I pulled one of Colins shots out, made the kick, and left the table fairly safe (3 ball at "A" and the CB ended up around "B"). John's mouth dropped to the floor when I hit that ball :D

Guess it would have to be this one. I called the shot, hit the CB 3 tips right, it hit the cushion, came straight back across table, still spinning like a top, hit the cushion spun down table to make the corner... was playing 1 pocket. Did this on a whim... it was basically a SWAG shot (Silly Wild Ass Guess). Since then, I've practiced the shot a lot. Not so amazing now, but it sure was when I pulled it off the first time, and it drew a "DAMN" from my opponent. I've actually used it in 9 ball a few times since. A cuemaker from Texas showed me the shot once, and I practiced it a few times, then blew it off after that... but when it came up, it ended up being a game winner for me. Of course, we weren't gambling, or I'd have just played safe!!! :)

)END

After I made the shot, I had a bank on a ball below the stack that broke out the stack. Not for sure, but I think I got to 8 from there. Didn't matter. My buddy, Darryl, whom I was playing at the time, was so blown away by the shot, that he couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a barn door for the rest of the night.

Dave,
btw. 'A tremendous slouch'...you got that from Caddyshack right?

Judge Smails:"You know, you should play with Dr. Beeper and myself. Why, he's been club champion for three years running and I'm no slouch myself."

Ty Webb: "Don't sell yourself short judge, you're a tremendous slouch."

Loved that movie!

LOL, First time I pulled it off, I just smiled, but inside I was my brain was screaming "MY GOD!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE YOU JUST DID THAT?!?!?!?!".

That being said... everyone has to get on the table and set this up and try it. 3 tips right, as level a cue as you can, pretty firm hit, and the spin straightens the ball out of the first cushion, then the ball is still spinning so much that it turns back down table on the second cushion. Of course, I have NOT told my buddy Darryl how to do it yet, and he doesn't have a computer, so.... well, he's afraid to play me safe anymore! :)

Yeah,
I can see that shot is definitely makeable as shown in the diagram, given the right table and played as you decribed with a lot of right english.

Now if someone can play that same shot, swerving around a ball on the way to the first side rail, that would really bring the house down!

Here's another shot that comes up every so often in real games, that can look quite incredible if the rails grip well and if the cloth is very fast.

I've done it quite a few times and it usually leaves the opponent scratching his head...lol.

I'd run four racks in a good ring game on a bar box. After the break I was left with this shot. START(
%CS0Y1%DU1D5%E^7M4%FS7C8%GF8L1%HY4R2%IT1N4%Pg5R4%WD4U8%XO1Z9

)END

I knew there was to much angle, and I knew I had to bounce the ball to straighten out the angle for a possible hit. Understand the yellow line was after rail contact. I loaded up with with a powerful stroke, the ball hopped a little, went three rails and hit the 6. It was enough to move the 4 ball in front of the side and the rest was history. I love those type of shots when they come off.

I have more similar but this one was a tough nut. BTW I didn't make a ball next break. I wonder why?

Not all that difficult I guess, but I called it and made it.

I played one of my best shots ever on wednesday now please bear in mind that this was the first time ever I have pulled off a jump shot since practising it for a month non stop, the situation I was in was I had to jump the nine to contact the 4 ball and thats all I wanted to do but when the cb hit the 4 it not only pocketed it but the white roll along the rail and fell off the table (yeas I know a foul), but I still very proud as this was my first jump shot ever.

Here is one I made a few weeks ago:

)END

This one I also made within the last few weeks. This is a shot I shoot if someone wants to see a trick shot or something neat. This came up in a game of 9-ball and it just so happened that it was the highest percentage choice I had at the time, and sure enough I made it:

Nice shots LastTwo.

Here's one I made against Thorsten Hohmann in a Eurotour event a few years ago. Thorsten missed the 3-ball and left me with that situation. Couldn't play safe, couldn't bank the 3, so I took a short kick at the 3 100mph with top right and just managed to maneuvre through the obstructing balls and finished with just enough speed to avoid leaving myself hooked behind the 6. I could've rolled the 3 in and played safe, but 7 was blocking that option.
