what was your favorite 1P match?

sylva ochoa vs rafael martinez first game
lenny has it for sale
no commentary just the match
incredible mooving and shooting until the very last shot

Galviston, TX Tournament

Efren and Shannon Dalton. Great shots and escapes.

Ronnie- Danny

I agree , The WORLD ONE POCKE CHALLENGE, is fantastic. I believe it was produced by Jay and Jay Helfert has it for sale on his website. I have many 1P matches and was buying them when they were on VHS. This match shows just how strong these two legends where.... right to the very end. Talk about shots, moves, and strategies, this match is outstanding.

I have the DVDs of Shannon vs Mizerak, good play, comes down to the last ball, but really it is fun just watching the young Shannon Daulton execute and win.

1 pocket

Cecil Tugwell and Cole Dickson they ran 7 racks in a row 8 in-out.Steve Cook and Mark Tadd Race to 4 went down to last ball last game.

I have a copy of this match also and it's my favorite 1 pocket match that I've seen. I really liked Jimmy Fusco's commentary during the match and the play was outstanding down to the last ball.

I was gonna say that too. Old one, right? On a diamond?

Another fine one is Slivka vz. Parica. 1995/ Michigan, I do believe. I am a little biased as Gerry is my hero :wink:. He rules PArica..for a little while anyway.:frown:

The first game of that match was a classic and one of the best games I have watched in fifty years of sweating one pocket.

I highly recommend gettingthe DVD and watching this one.

There is an old Legends of 1-Pocket match between Steve Cook and Jose Parica that is incredible...

Cook completely obliterates Parica 5-0...

Parica made something like 7 total balls in 5 games...

The commentary with Freddie and Grady is great...

Freddie called the match "a bloodletting"... LOL

An absolute classic...

Sorry for providing such a poor description, but my memory of the details is a bit sketchy. Some of these ‘facts’ could be a bit off base, but the punch line is the same. There was an exhibition tournament held in the early 1990s at West End Billiards in Elizabeth, NJ. Four players (Sigel, Varner, J Fusco, and Hopkins), round robin, 3 games (1P, 9B, 14.1). Each round allowed 90 minutes to complete play. 1P was best of 3 games. In that tournament, one game of 1P took the entire 90 minutes to complete. For a non-pool player, it would have been like watching grass grow. From my perspective, it was some of the most brilliant safety play I have ever seen. The general tone in the room was that it was one of the highlights of the tournament. I think the match was between Jimmy Fusco and Nick Varner. Because of the scheduling, they had to come back to finish the set. The tournament was videotaped. I would love to have a copy.

Sorry if I am spreading misinformation. If anybody else was there and can correct this description, your comments will be appreciated. If anybody has the videotape of that match and would like to lend it, please PM me.

please pm me
also other great games

not shannon and efryn or ronnie allen
i have seen those

Daulton/Miz is awesome, but the most entertaining video is Sigel/Ervolino with guys like Cornbread, Buddy Hall, Freddie the Beard,etc...doing the commentary. Maybe the best time you can have watching a pool video, ever.

I still wish I knew what in the hell Daulton yells at the end of the SD/Miz match.

Ronnie Allen vs. Mike Sigel after-hours at the 1980 San Francisco Open. I learned that even champions can have problems with the conditions.
