What would be in your perfect pool hall?

Howdy folks,

If you were to dream up your perfect pool hall what kind of playing environment would you like to see? Anything and everything you would consider to be a "perfect" place to play.

PLEASE - only list a couple of what you consider important - give others a chance to contribute without a lot of "me too" items.

What kind of tables and sizes would you like to see?

How about decor?

What kind of food/drinks?

What kind of railbird environment (chair placement, exhibition area, etc.)

How often would you like to see top players?

What kind of tournaments and how often?

League play?

Exhibitions?

House/Guest Instructors?
Regular classes?

Pro shop (and how well stocked)?

Good one. A poker room would be useful. Would you place some railbird chairs (at a discrete distance) - offering exhibition tournaments?

Well for starters I love great places not dull pool halls. Hence my favourite until now is still this company

This is just one of the outlets but man I wish to play in this place.

I'd like snooker and carom billiards tables to be less rare. (and 9' tables for that matter). I've actually never seen a carom billiards table in person :-(

Aside from the picture above, which is awesome...

#1 Great looking women that are sweet and have a good work ethic will sell a lot more drinks and bring you more dough and business.

I prefer the nicer rooms myself, but have been known to hang out in the dives as well.

ZZ Top on the sound system (must be an excellent sound system). Works in really nice rooms or dives.

an online one, i play on poolstars.lt, check it out, play for real money, freerolls every couple hours, best online simulator out there

If you want to limit me to two things to make the place perfect:

1: Excellent equipment.
2: Scantily clad (and attractive) rack girl/score keeper at every table.

The Perfect Poolhall

Well I would have to take a step back in time just a bit and have a poolhall that had anything in the 70's like a juke box that played 25 cent plays of music from that era, and a row of 10 cent pinball machines!

I would like to return to the Boys Club of America just outside Coral Gables, FL Circa 1954, and be 7 years olds again, and playing for the other kids PENNIES. Lets say those were great years. Bad Equiptment, Not Much Knowledge, Just 8 Ball, and One H*** of a lot of FUN.....

I have the absolute best answer that will ever appear in this thread(Sorry i'm so modest;)):

The perfect pool room would have a 60-120 minute wait list for a table 7 nights a week.

What could possibly be better than that? Its what pool needs, participation in vast amounts.

where are these rooms at? kinda flashy but still nice, love the TV table.

• 20+ 9 foot GC5's, standard pockets, simonis 860.
Also: some with 760, some with shims, a few 10 footers, and a few diamond smart tables for the barbox guys.
A few snooker and 3C tables, 12 foot, heated. Bumper pool and keno too.
Wide diamond lights. Space between every table... countertops and chairs are nowhere near the tables.
All tables reclothed at the same time, at least once a year. Tables cleaned daily with chalk off.
Aramith balls, polished daily or on request. Ball markers provided on request. Measles ball and blue dot too.

• Nonsmoking

• Noisy or distracting things like boxing game, megatouch, basketball, skee ball, whatever, all
in a separate room. Jukebox at a reasonable level, temperature monitored closely, noisy people and drunks kept out.

• Padded captain's chairs, table for your stuff, max 2 chairs per table.
Largest Q-claw built into each table.

• Staff is knowledgeable about pool, keeps people OFF the tables, strictly forbids drinks or food near
the tables, doesn't let people lean on them heavily or climb on them, doesn't let people slam balls onto them,
or tap them while racking. Nobody walks in front of your shot, or talks to you while you're down on a ball,
or gets in your way.

• Magic Ball Rack, Kamui, tappers etc. available on request to regulars who won't walk off with them.

That's about all I need. Don't care if the staff is pretty, what drinks are served, if the food's any good,
if the decor is nice, etc. All of that is gravy. But perfect shooting conditions would be what gets me out of the house. I'd drive an hour or even a little further to shoot in a place like this.
