It's a paradox. The RP has about 80M people, the USA about 300M. I think the RP is a far better pool playing Nation per capita or "heads up"??? Asian's are quickly controlling top Level Pro Pool. It's a numbers game. It's like playing a 2A school vs a 6A school. Collectively focus and practice, and the Law of averages will eventually take over.

Is there a Filipino pool forum, since pool is regarded as a sport in their country?

I think nearly a quarter of MLB players are from Latin America. The Dominican Republic alone, which only has about 9 million people, could probably put together a team that would smoke my MLB team (Cards) right now. So it's not just pool.

It may have something to do with the top sports being played in each place. In the US Pool would not place within the top 20 but within the RP it would likely be in the top 5. For kids in the US it's probably ranked way lower than that! For spectator numbers Pool in the US may not even come in the Top 100 sports more people watch Chess!

Pool to a large degree in the US still has a seedy image among the general public even if it's not so true these days. It has no real governing body, it's fragmented and cannot get airtime even for it's top tournaments.

Until something is done to strenghten the image, acceptability and branding of Pool in the US, it is going nowhere.

Well, one thing for sure, USA all the way when it comes to basketball.
