What would it take to solve the 9ball golden break?

Is there something specific why you would literally be calling me a name? Every APA player I know gets excited on a 9snap. Almost none of them understand it’s due to a bad rack, and they congratulate each other on what they consider a great break. Only the upper level players understand what happens in a 9snap. Meanwhile, the APA gives out patches for what the players perceive as an excellent shot. Many APA player collect them and display them. This is fact.

More name calling??
I hate to even get involved here but I can’t pass one train wreck let alone two.

They seriously give patches for making the 9 on the break? How many do you have to make before you get a patch? What other patches can a player earn, and more importantly what’s the highest regarded match? The triple combo?

Did you notice that it went in on a secondary hit?….most of them do…..does that tell you something?

Do I have to pay you to tell me what it means? Im only silver member.

I recognize that break pattern from a previous post it was shown from a virtual simulation.

I have been banking on the fact table conditions are getting more ideal. The emergence of betting on how many golden breaks can happen was another interest I had.

The secondary hit is skill…its not a rack gone awry….therefore, I’m good with it.
Moving the cue ball back to within six inches of the rail and one diamond wide in the center of the rail would make it tougher.

One 9snap gets a patch.
BNR gets a patch
Beat a 7 (or 8 or 9), get a patch
Play without racking, get a patch
Etc

No limit. You can keep collecting patches. I’ve seen guys who literally adorn their case with a hundred patches they hook on a loop .

I imagine that pulls in some interesting groupies.

If you're a 7-8 or 9 and you beat the same do you still get a patch??

I've always been in favor of the rule, "a player cannot win or lose on the break". This being said, I think MR has it right and needs to leave the rules alone in order to collect more data. The pocket size has been reduced, spot ball moved, break area designated.... It seems like more golden breaks, but, my guess is over time this will settle back to the norm or even less. Consistently making changes will not provide reliable data to make good decisions.

Guess what you got to do to earn this patch?
