Playing a scotch doubles format with losers breaking..
The other team has a player that pockets the 9.
We break and shoot til my partner missed a ball.
The same player from the other team jumps up and shoots quickly.
I call the foul on them. They are not happy but I felt it was the proper thing to do.
Before we shoot we replay what happened to confirm it was my shot.
I take ball in hand and the other team calls the same foul on us....As u know this turned into a large argument.
The TD was our side about it but the other team refused to play on until they got their way. So the TD called a rerack of the game.
Just wondering what else could have been done?
Anyone have anything happen to them this way and of so what happened?

I thought that too and we asked the TD which said it was rotate shooters the entire time...Which was hard to keep up with sometime...lol

The player on the opposing team shot the 9 in. His opponent should have been first to lead off. Thats the way we play it but I honestly had no idea that it was a foul.

If it is, I imagine that you had the right to call a foul on it.

It was then your turn so I can't see how calling a foul on you was justified.

Oh well, sometimes we learn the hard way re how other teams like to play it.

Scotch Doubles 9-ball ?
They won the first game by sinking the 9-Ball.
Second game, Rotation shouldn't matter.
In different leagues, Scotch doubles you can switch lead shooter, Even during the same game. But, this has to be talked about before a match (best of 9) begins.

Ground rules are always a good place to begin.

I know that in my league, it is just rotation. So you can make this per game or per match. Or talk it over with the other team about who leads once someone misses.

Personally, I like to keep the same rotation. A1-A2-B1-B2 through out the whole match.

I don't understand here. You called a legit foul, got BIH, confirm it is your shot Kenny. Why did they then call a foul on you? You stated your team's last inning ended on your partner's miss... What am i missing?

If the TD agreed with you, and the other team refused to play, they forefit the match. Plus if you confirmed it was your shot, no way they should have called a foul on you.

I have never seen a doubles play where you can swap who goes first unless both teams did not remember and its an honest mix-up. The last person to sink the game winner sits and the other player from the team breaks, you can't just swap back and forth who shoots first in each game. The only question would be during a push. If a player pushes out, does the same player take the shot if passed back or is it to the next player?
