there's a number of things you could do, but i would just shoot the 8 into the upper far corner. It's really no harder than the safe or the combination or the reverse bank.
I can see that the safe that Jude suggest has a lot of merit but if I just need one game and he needs three I would go for the win whether it be the cut to the corner or the kiss of the 14 ball like the op did.
The safe would be the best option if it was hill hill because the pressure to perform now would be on the opponent.
If I were your opponent and needed three games and you decided to play safe I would be delighted to have another opportunity. Chances are that I would welcome any place you would put me.
My experience tells me that when you put a good player with his back up against the wall and no where to hide they usually come up with that good shot to win.
I short, if I lose this game I will lose it with a chance to win.
Last night my opponent left me this on the 8 ball.
He got lucky and the 14 rolled right into the path of the side pocket and the 15 was blocking the cross side.
What I did worked although I know how risky it was. Just wondering what you guys/girls would have done. I was on the hill and he needed 3.
Cueball is about a quarter of an inch from being frozen on the rail and it's a 9 foot table.
Thanks,
