I once posted a cue ID on this website. I purchased the cue for who knows how long and needed to get it restore. It was a 1970s Huebler. A trusty person he is gladly appreciate doing the work cause he needed the money. From then on and till this day I would call but no answer nor return calls;

1) He sold it
2) He kept it
3) ???

I heard from people where he plays at and I am still waiting for the time and moment to go there and face the truth. Which is all I need and a return of something. Especially an apology.

His name is Dale Venison... Houston, TX. If yall know him.

after 4 years? you waited too long. after 6-8 weeks you should have acted.

My opinion only is that if you cannot reach him you may confront him if possible...and if not maybe get someone to speak to him on your behalf?

Damn, youre probably the 5th person ive heard about that dale did this to, he disappears with peoples cues alot, havnt seen the guy in probably 3 years or more.

I'm afraid I'd write the loss off as tuition.

You know, tuition, the money you paid for the lessons you learned?

I personally have paid a lot of tuition:grin:

Start a file on him. Try reporting him to the local authorities. If enough people complain he will get get investigated. I'd say what he is doing is very illegal.

I think its probably a fair thing to say we've all been burned before, regardless of our education or intelligence. Maybe you loaned a 'friend' some money and he gave you an excuse-a-day or moved away, maybe you bought something from a store and they didn't give you the satisfaction you deserved, maybe you were the victim of bait-and-switch when purchasing something or the victim of a switcheroo when you had something repaired. Regardless, learn from this experience.

Plan ahead. 1) Make sure you engrave your cue so there is absolutely no confusion as to who's cue it is. 2) Take out insurance for your cue(s) in case they are stolen. 3) When having someone do repair, check the BBB at BBB.org. If they're not a member and they're just an individual, do the deal over eBay or through Paypal. Cash deals leave no record. 5) Setup your chat client to save all chats. Likewise, save your emails. Don't take someone's word by phone, get an invoice with an agreed period of time. 4) After you know you're angry. do some exercise. Then write down everything and talk with a friend about some possible solutions. Get all your materials include a chat record (MSN, etc.) and be cool when you go to the police station to file a report.

I've seen plenty of threads about poor service from cue makers on this forum. It's like used car salesmen.

My belief is, if they "advertise"....particularly on this board.....questionable at best???

Word of mouth...the best "artist" don't "advertise"....don't need to, it's a waste of time, effort, and money.

Yo Viet,

Are you talking about that chubby Dale who chews tabacco...kind of a red neck? Kind of short (per caucasian standards....hahaha) with blonde / brownish hair? I think he was the guy who got Annie O's equipment when she died.

What a creap.

After 4 years I think you have to write it off.
