What would you like to see accomplished in Pool this year?

This could really be an interesting year when you think about it.

More Tar Matches!

I would like to see more Tar Matches. Those were some good matches.

Winner breaks races to 60 in 10 Ball. A real American shoot out.

Get a 8 of the best 10 Ball shooters and match them up.

Winner takes all and side bets encouraged.

I'd like to see the pool community get behind pool. I'd like to see those that love the game of pool, but aren't too keen on 8-ball, giving everything they can to support, for example, Darren Appleton's World Series. I'd like to see professional pool players embrace tournaments with races that are either shorter or longer than their preferred length and try to win the damn things without making excuses. I'd like to see more amateur pool played for fun with players playing their hearts out to win. I'd like to see this in professional pool too - an exact mirror. I'd like to see more players playing for money but less players playing for money they cant afford to play for (if its all about the money there are far easier ways for each and every one of us to make it). I'd like the best players to favor winning tournaments over winning money (they would then win even more of that but maybe it would be less fun and feel like less of a hustle) and play with the same heart as the rest of us.

Pretty sure TAR is no more, iirc.

Leagues disappear.

Longer races in pro tournaments.

One pocket begins to become the game of choice for tournament play.

No more bar boxes. Ever.

More money.

Open minds to rule changes. (Why are matches won and lost because a single ball happens to slide in on the break for example? Why not alternate break and just have the breaker always shoot after the break?)

I've got two wishes for 2017 regarding the play:

1. Rack Your Own Needs to Go
I'd like to see the end of rack your own, at very least once an event is down to four players. Just as in Matchroom events, after the balls are racked by a neutral racker, rack inspection should be allowed, but not re-racking.

Rack your own has ruined rotation pool and has, all too often, created a lot of ill will among the players. Also, the racking arguments, which waste time and really make the players look bad in the eyes of viewers, would be eliminated using neutral rackers.

2. No Mosconi Points for Bar Table Events
Unless the Mosconi Cup will be played on bar tables, it is ridiculous to count even one bar table event in qualifying for the Mosconi team.

]Leagues disappear. this keeps rooms open

Longer races in pro tournaments. good idea

No more bar boxes. Ever. needed for leagues, but not for pro tournaments

More money. good idea

Real Pool Association for Membership

I doubt this will ever happen but Id like to see a real Association that is dedicated to focusing its efforts on what can be done to stimulate growth in pool. I know that this will never happen but its a wish of mine along with people joining it and staying members to hopefully see something good happen to the game in this country. Obviously something isnt working for us and its time we did something new.

I know TAR is gone.

Guys I know Tar is gone. I also believe there may be some one out there who is capable of putting those types of matches together. It was good stuff to watch.

Two good shooters in a real shoot out, that was TAR.

Picture these guys in a 10 Ball shoot out.

Shane
Shaw
Chang
Big Ko
Alvin
Dennis
Wu
Alex
Darren
Niels

I know I left some out. Any one of them on any given day can beat the other one.

Tournaments and the Cup do not let the pro player show place their skills like a TAR match format did. Those long races let the cream rise to the top!

Jesus H Christ, you just put up the best reason to bet on something I've ever seen.

I've got Shaw for $500

I'd like to start off small :

1. They need referees at pro/open events.
2. 40 second open shot clock with 25 second shot clocks afterwards for every other shot for pro/open events.
3. Neutral racker.
4. 8 ball needs to ga back to being take what you make.

Does The Action Report no longer exist? Gone bankrupt? Is no more?
Please link me up.
I googled and found nothing that indicates that "TAR is gone".

Thanks for the link,
Dave

I forget which was the last match they did, but I do remember in the video the guys who held those events said they were no longer doing them. I forget the reason why but maybe it's because they weren't having fun anymore?
