We have an intellectual rights lawyer right here on AZB who I won't out. Last I knew he was working in a firm of dozens of lawyers. Copyright infringement can be very profitable, for the lawyers.

Sending the pdf is not a crime, is it? Sending and post is not the same.

What if the file is zipped does that matter and broken into multiple parts?

Sounds like a great idea! Break it down into multiple parts. That way they can charge you with one count for each part.

Oops. I just checked a bunch of new and used book sites and nothing.

The book was published in 2003 from an apartment in Reno, according to info at the back of the book. Givens died a while ago, I believe.

Givens was the editor for Freddy the Beard's books, so Freddy's daughter might know a contact. It looks like she is still running a website.

If I create an academic assignment at school, then a person quotes a billiards book and posts on the internet, then its allowed.

It has to be behind a password protected website like AZBILLIARDS forum.

I say study billiards from the 19th century using primary sources.

Students all quote and reference the same book. Now I have a class of reports with different quotes from a billiards book.

Post on the internet, use APA citation, then no copyright violation, just say it was for school
