I finally found my Kid Delicious 4-disc DVD set. I bought it direct from Danny while at the Reno Open (2004?). It was buried in a bookcase in my garage. I need to watch them again. There's some good stuff on 'em.

What happened to Danny? Where is he at? Does he even play pool any more? Anybody know?

TIA.

I had heard he has had some health issues, but he was playing in the Turning Stone event this last December. I watched him play one set and he started out slow but it was evident that he has a beautiful stroke and he is a genuine nice guy, very approachable.

Bristol Bob continued with his painting and has some very nice billiards related artwork. They were on display at Turning Stone in Dec. and you can check them out on his website at bristolsportsart.com

Bobby still plays, and pretty well. He's pretty much a regular in the top 8 in the larger tournaments here in the Colorado area.
One of the hardest working pool players I've ever seen.

Danny

He was a great road player for about a 3 year period I think he may have had one of the best batting averages you could have. He also was able to beat some people twice as the skinny kid then the heavier version lotsa talent in that guy. He came through Akron and beat the locals like a drum while getting them to bet higher then I ever seen em bet. I was lucky to know who he was and made some money with him. Also a real nice guy him and his brother

Danny, for a few years, could give anybody in pool a real run for their money. And most of the guys he ran into on the road were easy pickins' for him with his great talent and charisma. He became very proficient at working the hustle.

He and Bristol Bob, truly were the odd-couple of road warriors. Definite polar opposites. Made for some funny moments as well as some occasional serious strain.

I always thought it was terrific that they were able to have such a gifted writer, in L. Jon Wertheim, to do the Kid Delicious story. Too bad the movie was never done. I know I'm biased, but even still, I swear, this story on the silver screen could have been huge.

Below are a couple of shots from maybe three years ago when Danny and Bob were doing a piece for ESPN here in CT. Danny called me and in his inimitable raspy voice he said "Hey Brian, guess what, I'm going right by your house in a limo... ESPN sent a limo to New Jersey for me, me and Bristol Bob are gonna do something for them at a bar with a pool table there in Bristol. You wanna hit some balls after?"

Of course I did, so they swung by here.

Best,

Ended up talking with Danny after I posted in this thread earlier today.

He's doing okay, another gig selling Chevrolets ended recently, though.

He has been trying to put together some inclusive tourneys in NJ. Plus doing lessons, still hustling his dvd's.

Whatever it takes to provide for his family.

Says he's feeling good these days.

What a likeable fellow Danny is.

I got the book for Christmas a couple years back, and it was awesome. Danny is one of my favorite players. Would love to meet him in person at some point b/c he seems like a genuine good guy.
