What's a good book/DVD for English?

Vertical axis is simpler but not the entire palette. There's many shots that you just NEED to use side spin, the key is to know when and how.

Note that I said very little or no english. There will be a very few times that you have to use side spin. I've seen very few since I started playing that way. I've used more english playing Straight Pool or One Pocket than in 9 Ball.

Hi, I just started shooting again after 17 years off and I an having quite a bit of trouble with my english. First, I am having alot of trouble drawing the cue ball.
You can find lots of advice and resources for improving your draw stroke here:

Second, I am having a hard time visualizing which type of english to use to obtain correct position. ( I get it right about half the time.)

What is a good book or video that would help me out. I am limited on funds, so I am looking for a good all around book/video.
Good "all-around" book recommendations can be found here:

I also humbly suggest the following videos for English and position-play:

Good luck with your game,

Veps for English

Im not advertising for Dr. Dave but I just got the 2nd CD on position control and its really, really good to let you know what English to use to get the desired position. I think its possibly the best thing out there as far as from what Ive seen to put polish on a good position game.

As far a learning how to cope with squirt and curve that comes with the side English used this is what I do. I set up shots and shoot them and I note the distance of the shots based on how far I am from the shot based on the length of my cue shaft. If its less that 1/2 a shaft length the allowance is pretty small. If longer then I hope Im ready for it and have shot a few of them. This way I know how to allow ie 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 etc etc of a ball to side opposite the squirt of the cue ball when struck. This is pretty simple really but if you consider that for each group of distances you need to know how to make the balls with soft, med, firm and hard strokes then you ve got some work cut out for you and you might just have to go on feel.

From what I hear....

This is BAR NONE the BEST SYSTEM FOR LEARNING ENGRISH!
