I've heard this from the source, while I was in his company. I suspect his game of choice would be either 9-Ball or Ten Ball. I do know he has privately challenged more than one of the "new" big name players to come down and visit him for BIG BUCKS! And I'm not talking about ten or twenty grand either.

As far as I'm concerned if such a game happens, I'm betting on JA. And "my" window will be open!

who cares if johnny picks the lint on the tables,when its over only thing his oppent is picking is there wallet so they can pay him. johnny is the best 9ball player in the usa when it comes to playing for the cash.sure he might lose in a tourament some times . i dont see nobody lining up to play him for the cash.

well if johnny is throwing up more then 10 or 20 g's, my money is on him all day, especially in his own room.

Johnny has been picking imaginary lint off the tables for as long as I can remember. I remember seeing him when he was "Young Johnny Archer from Mentor, Georgia " and he did it then. I pretty much don't notice it anymore.

I still believe a lot of his cleaning off lint comes from him being a golfer where even small imperfections in the green can throw off your putts.

Johnny is one of the greatest of all time, a class act, and is still playing absolutely phenomenal pool after being in the game two decades. I couldn't care less if he picks off some lint.

Watching Earl or Mosconi run around like freaks and shoot like God is of course more entertaining, but when your house payment depends on slow rolling a ball across the table, picking lint really isn't that big a deal.

Too slow, use a shot clock. Who cares what they do before they shoot?
 
I think the lint picking is a habit that has stuck with him. The old cloth used to really have terrible lint build up. I used to pick a few from time to time before samonis came out....or maybe he is fu@#$ with you...lol!
