What's it worth? Murray 9'er

You all don't want to hear my sob story so we'll skip how it came to be. Ultimately I might be moving into a new place.. New place doesn't have room for my table. So I'm thinking of selling it (buying a gold crown down the road) instead of tearing it down and storing it.

It's a 9' Murray, Tour Edition cloth.. The kicker being the rails / pockets were setup by the guys from Hard times. (Straight cut pockets, tight) Steve L. came down to San Diego and set it up for me a few years back.

What's it worth in these economic times? (I can post pics if that helps to get a more accurate value?)

I wouldn't have any idea of what it's worth. I do know that Murray tables need to be set up by someone who really knows what they are doing to get them right. The local room has eight of them, set up by an idiot. The pockets are screwed up big time and the ball comes off the rail in the air when hit medium speed. Just awful! I've been told that if they are set up right they aren't bad. Sounds like yours was done right. Who disassembles it and sets it up again might have a bearing on the price.
Good luck.

I have played on a ton of bartables where the it is impossible to hit kick shots or banks unless you're using super easy speed because the cue ball will bounce in the air off the rails when any speed is used. I have never knew the cause of it, just seen it happen and worked around it. You care explaining why this happens? My curiousity is sparked.

You'll be lucky to get a $1000 for that right now.
I helped a friend sell one a few years back.
The same Color Of Money table. Sold it for $900.
The rails on that table do not bolt over the slates.
Hence, the thuddy sound. It bolts over the table's frame.
Also the aluminum corners from the bottom can ruin a cue if you are not careful.

I've been told it's because of the problem with the rails not being the proper height due to the table's construction. If you hit the balls super easy on these tables, you will miss. I can see where it might work on a bar table but not on a nine footer. All eight tables locally have that problem, that and the pocket facings in the corners need to be fixed, replaced, reshimmed, whatever. Worst table by far that I've ever played on in all the years I've played, and that's considerable.

I appreciate the feedback guys.. :)

Just for the record I don't have any problems with the balls jumping up off the rails at any speed.

So to fire sale this thing if I have too.. 500 bucks sound about right?

Well it's unfortunate... The "might" be moving into a new place has come to fruition.. So I'll be selling the table, and probably some other pool related stuff.

I appreciate the input guys.

If anyone knows of someone in the San Diego area looking for a nice practice table on the cheap please let me know. The table plays perfect, and as previously mentioned is setup (new rails, recut to straight pockets etc..) as a perfect training table.

I'll take some pictures and put them in the classifieds section later tonight / tomorrow.

I can vouch for PlynSets table. I've played on it a few times, and it plays great! $500 is a STEAL for this table... Dave, sorry to hear you have to move. Why don't you sell it to James?

James got real heavy into pool for a spell. He ended up buying 2 or 3 Gandi "Big G" tables.. Had one at his place, and then ended up selling the other 2.

Like a flash in the pan though, he ended up selling off all his pool stuff, and doesn't play anymore. ???

I dunno.. LOL

I think he found out getting to the upper levels of the game was more work then he anticipated.. and he got burnt out.

Three of those Spartanburg tables were sold across town for $1500 each. They are being totally recovered by Scott B.
