I found a high end, mint condition Pechauer in a pawn shop. It was worth several hundred and I got the cue and a nice case for $125.00. I also found a Joss with 2 shafts and a case for $150.00 in another pawn shop. it was also worth a few hundred.

You found a cue at a pawn shop? How odd.

:p

found a local cue maker's low end custom cue (worth about 600) and a jack justis 2x4 case (had a good amount of wear and tear, but still a great case) at a yard sale for 15 bucks. gave them a 20, told them to keep the change, and hauled ass...........LOL

No, it is not odd. I have found several nice cues in a pawn shop. A $2200 Phillippi for $1400. A 1960's Adams that is straighter than any cue I have, for $35. I have found several cues with broken butt plates that I repaired. They are there my friend.

LMAO

I had a Schon and a Dave Tice stolen several years ago and I still search the pawn shops hoping to find it. No luck yet but I will keep looking. The odd part was the low prices. Most of the pawn shops that I go to are hip to cue values and the prices reflect it.

oh, i almost forgot, the case also had what looked to me to be a 10-15 year old mcdermott.........the shaft had a little wobble in it, and a friend of mine liked it, so i gave it to him.

Sorry, that was sarcasm.

:P

Best steal would have to be inheriting my grandfather's mid 1960-s Frank Paradise after he passed away.

Simple titlist conversion, no windows in the butt, brass joint, leather wrap. Plain, simple, and damn classy looking.

a mid 80's southwest fancy/inlay cue worth 6x more in japan than what i paid.

Wait, are you trying to tell me there are pawn shops in Vegas? Now THAT is odd.

I cant imagine anyone needing to sell something for quick cash in Vegas

I have you all beat so far,
my friend who knew i collected cues found a cog in a pawn shop
for 900.00 in a matching case beat the guy down to 400.00 over
a couple of months time.
when he brought it to my place an i opened the case i all most
sh*t myself. i could get the cash out of my pocket fast enough
realizing what it was instantly!
I sent to joey to have refinshed as it was in sad shape cosmetically
he offered me 3700.00 on the spot! once done he told me not to take
anything less than 4500.00 for it and he had first dibbs
true story --- top that

doc

I found a Brunswick Trophy in a pawn shop in Kelowna for $50. The shaft was warped and useless but the butt was in surprisingly good shape and still had the original decal. I got a new shaft built for it and had some small work done, total cost of the cue was $150 all in and I sold it for $400 easily.
