What's the Best Water-Resistant Cloth?

Who cares? Seriously, who buys table cloth thinking, "Gee, i wonder how this stuff will handle getting wet". I'll tell you: nobody. This outfit is the same bunch that rated a CaliforniaHouse table as the best buy, C'mon man, who are they trying to kid.
To be fair, I suspect a lot of people...

those people just aren't going to be people posting on a billiards message board.

"Felt"?!?

I wonder why they didn't use 860HR which is a teflon-coated cloth. Seems like an unfair test.
Edit: After a more careful look, Simonis does not use Teflon in HR cloth. See below.

Simonis makes a specifically "water resistant" cloth for outdoor use.

I think a lot of rooms are interested in cloth that can be cleaned up after beer spills. Maybe test with beer next time.

The day after Buffalo installed new 860HR a few chumps spilled beer all over the table. Buff brought in a carpet cleaner to try and clean it. They got most of it out. Are you sure HR is Teflon coated? I would have thought it would play much faster with Teflon.

Well, I could swear I saw something on the Simonis site about about Teflon, but evidently they do not use it in the HR cloth. They say they get stain resistance with a tighter weave. Teflon is mentioned as being in Simonis cloths in old posts on other sites such as here and Reddit.

In fact Simonis wishes users of Teflon-coated cloths good luck in sticking on their spots:

Resisting liquid spills has always been a part of Simonis cloth. Simonis cloth naturally repels liquids because we use the finest worsted wool, an optimal thread count and a proprietary manufacturing process. This keeps liquids from penetrating the cloth and allows spills to be cleaned up quickly without staining or damaging the playfield.
(Oh, and good luck getting your table spot to stick on Teflon® treated cloth)

Most people outside the industry just call it “felt,” so we use the term pretty interchangeably. Technically, yes, “cloth” is the accurate term. Kind of like calling aluminum foil “tin foil.” Technically it’s not tin, but that’s what most people have called it for years. Same thing here, “cloth” is the accurate term, but “felt” is what most people know it as.

Ya'll seriously get raged so easily. We are a home entertainment furniture company. If you paid attention to that video you just referenced, you'd know we were rating the best table from the tables WE specifically installed/reviewed last year. We're not saying serious pool players should be going for the fancy furniture piece pool table over the ones that promote tournament level play. 😂 And yes, to most actual BUYERS, they do care about the type of cloth and quality that comes on their table.

Anyone know anything about Brunswick Centennial stain resistant cloth?
A friend of mine is looking to get the table in his clubhouse redone
The clubhouse is often used for parties and catering so he wants something that is stain resistant

only way to go is a cover for the table if guests are coming over not to play.

wine will get it it ruined.

Maybe slip the word "upholstery" in your ads?
