What's the biggest package you've ever run?

Biggest with making balls on the break is 5 which I did this year. The biggest I ran including dry breaks is 10 which I did before I quit playing for 10 years about 13 years ago. Worst part about that one is that someone had to tell me that I did it. I was so far into the zone that I had no idea that I ran a single rack. Once the guy told me about it and snapped me out of my happy place I didn't run another rack until I came back to pool 10 years later.

I was playing 9 ball with Danny Tater in Columbus Ohio at Shamoos Bar in the 80's on a bar box with the big cue ball. He had busted me 2 days in a row on his table, he played great. The last day we (me and Woody Woods from Beckley West Virginia) had bought 10 lottery tickets, 178 boxed and hit for $830.00. Then I played Howard Vickery and Kenny McKoy on 9 foot Gold Crowns and I beat both of them for $300.00 sets. We took the $1400.00 and went back to Tater and started betting $170.00 a game and got up to $300.00 a game on the rail. After a few hours back and forth I hit him with 13 and busted the joint.

nvr herd of woody its kool hearing kool storys like that bout people from my state

ive ran 4 on a barbox playing 9 ball ... i got lucky i sloped two balls n n 3 playing 9 ball 9ft ... huge pockets but they dont accept balls easy .... both i was dead stroke ... but now i cant make 2 n a row

My highest is a 6 pack in 9 ball on a gold crown 1. 2 years ago while playing a weaker player friend of mine spotting the 7+8 in a race to 7 for $10. It was at a time when I was practicing at least 15+ hours a week. I haven't run anything over 4 racks since. Maybe I've peaked?

I can't play my best cold or without having practiced several hours a week on my home table. Most players underestimat the value of varied practice, playing different games and most of all working on your weaknesses until they become strengths. When I'm not playing my best and not putting in practice time I figure I don't deserve to win.

I've run thousands of one pack's, that get's the CASH in most situations!

Runnin' racks

I don't know if this has ever been asked, but how many racks have you put together. I'm talking about break and runs in 9 or 10 ball. Tell us which game you were playing, the size of the table, and if it was practice, gambling, or a tournament.

I've ran a four pack in 9 ball and missed the 10 for a three in 10 ball. Both were practicing on a 9 ft Diamond.

I am just curious to hear some of the accomplishments of others here.

Six-packs of 9-ball on 7, 8 and 9 footers
Six-packs of 8-ball on 8 and 9 footers.
Eight-pack of 8-ball on a 7-footer in competition.
(I've never had a great break!)
I'm more proud of winning 43 and 44 games in a row in consecutive seasons in a BCA-rule 8-ball league.

Reviewing the stats, there are at least 30 people posting in this thread that could give Shane the 7 out and Earl the 8 and last 3 last night.

Look at line 4 - number of rank run

Shane 1
Earl 5

I realize this was only 1 night for Shane and Earl but these are two of the best. And, we have guys posting in here who appear capable of playing with anyone.

I think most people know who Chip Compton, Joey Gray, Shane McMinn, and Gabe Owns are. I've watched these guys many times here in Oklahoma. I've never seen any of these guys put a 6 pack together. I'm not saying the couldn't or haven't. I just have never seen it.

For all those posters who have put large packages together, please tell me the number of times you have been to the US Open or Derby and where you finished each year.

I don't think I've ever put a 2 pack together. But, if I could string packages these guys are posting, I guaranty I would be playing in all the major tournaments.

I guess what I'm saying is, I call BS.

I don't think bs is the right call.
These are HIGHLIGHTS of a pool career.
I have a friend who needs the 6-7-8 from any good player.....
..but he's got a lotta heart and can get the cash at a fair game....
..watched him run a 6-pack...and he still needs the weight.

..it's the break and run AVERAGE that tells

..and often there are generous pockets involved
