What's the biggest spot someone offered you?

Mike Davis has given me the 6 out, alternating break (no slop, money balls on break stay down and don't count as win). The alternating break is my requirement (necessary since he could easily break and run over half the set out at any given time).

I've won less than half the time in races to 7.

Playing one pocket, my opponent racked the balls outside of my pocket, playing 8-8 even, my break. It was very intimidating. However, with this player I'd probably loose if I don't get 8 balls right after the break. This was maybe 6-7 years ago..

thers a good hustle to this rack, bet a shortstop that he cant make all the balls one at a time in that pocket give him 25-30 shots to do it , but if he misses you get to spot a ball, lo lo he cant do it , you can make some cash wirh this, with beginners, it looks and sounds easy, try it and you will see. not easy :D :D

Tony Watson offered me the wild 6 ,7 and the snaps..on a Bar box.It wasn't pretty 4 him..I had shrimpboat stuck 2 dimes before his backer got wise and wanted to adjust..Boat appeared chemically enhanced(politically correct) and was practically runnin' around the table tryin' to out run the nuts.

Long story short, we ended up playing with the breaks, 7 and last 2 ...stupid move on my part !Tony caught a gear and I QUIT HIM WINNER!

So sue me!

I had a younger guy allow me to pick my weight in 9-ball. Put all the balls in the return and I fished 1 out without looking for $5 a rack. I lucked out and grabbed the 2 ball. Turned out pretty good.

Another time in 1 pocket, the same kid played me 10-5 and my fouls didn't count. I kept pushing the cue ball into the pack without moving any other balls far enough to give him a shot. Beat him 5-0 and he quit.

For 50 cents a set, right? And you ran 10 sets on him? :D :D

Russ

We broke even. I came back from 2 sets behind and started shooting lights out. He then realized he could only give me that spot with the 3-out and only 1 game on the wire.

Efren offered me the 8 once but I told him I needed the 7. I pounded him. Before that my dad gave me the 6 and out when I was 2 but he didn't like it.

In One Pocket I've been given 11-5 and I lost badly.

I was offered the 6-out in 9-ball, but I was too chicken to take it.

I've been given 100-80 in Straight Pool and lost.

I think this means I need to improve my skills. :p

I recieved many times from an anonymous player the 5,7, last two, all the breaks and the hand-span for 5 a rack and lost a hundred every session....I considered it a lesson----he considered it a walk in the park. At that same time I was getting the call 8 from McCready and winning every other set.

Regardless, I learned alot watching this player run all over me. Lessons are never free, but they are priceless if you pay attention.

???????????

If you can play McCready with only the call 8 and break even, I can't think of anyone that would be able to give you that spot..

Not even Efren.

Are you talking Bocephus McCready? Or maybe Luke McCready? Chuck McCready?

'Cause you sure ought to be able to win against everyone with that spot if you play KEITH McCready with the call 8....:D :D :D

And Russ you should believe it

Bottom line---------this player normally gave Keith the wild 7 every week for 6 months in a what was a local OPEN tournament----til the tournament director made the player sit out for 3 months. And yes this was an OPEN tournament. John Schmidt was also a sporadic entrant into this tourney during this time frame and he recieved the 7 and last 2 which was still not enough of a handicap. Tournament directors excuse was that I can not make you give up any more weight to these upper level players, and you are driving the players away cause they can not win with these extreme spots.

And Russ the sad part is that this is the truth. I do not make up stories to make myself look like a better player than I am, and in this case make myself look pathetic. Bottom line is that these are facts. As to whether you want to believe them is up to you.

I don't see how on earth that would be possible. I am not calling you a lier but the 5,7, last 2 , break, and handspan. Maybe you just forgot you beat this player or something.

If you are only getting the call 8 from Kieth than that means you are a strong shortstop in my book. And a strong shortstop will win with this spot against the best player in the universe over a period of time. If you say he beat you 1 time I can see that if he was on fire and running out like water but on average ...no way.

That was exactly the point I was trying to make...

A strong shortstop is supposed to run out from the break over half the time with this spot. It doesn't MATTER how well the other guy plays. Heck, if the shortstop has a decent break and knows the table, he's supposed to torture Efren with this spot...

biggest spot

The biggest spot ever offered to me was the 7-ball and the last 3 we where locking up like 2'gs. I sobered up he said he can't give me the spot. he said sorry, and then said thats what he gets for running his mouth to a WOMAN.:) :)
