What's up with Rodney Morris?

Opened a pool hall in NC or Georgia I believe.
He got involved with TSPN and then covid killed that. Last i heard he was a partner with Archer in his his new spot in Georgia. He doesn't play much at all now. He's fairly active on FB.

I don’t mean any disrespect, but him being in the hall of fame is something I don’t get.

Ever come home from a tournament out of town? Finish somewhere in the money but not first? Or maybe not in the money? Realize you would have had to play considerably better to do any better and you just don't have it in you? Tally up the weekend's bills and realize just how expensive it actually is to play pool?
Enough of this and the love of the game and the scene just disappears maybe suddenly maybe gradually.
Well high level players and pros are not immune to this because most of their prospects aren't really any better than yours when you think about it.
We all still love the game of pool but come to a point when that's not enough to support it as it exists today.

Am I the only one that notices the BCA has a lot of inaccuracies when portraying player's accomplishments? It looks like they round up quite a bit.

just stating my opinion. his accomplishments pale in comparison to other members
Play him sometime, & will be clear quickly why he’s in the HoF. He’s more than deserving to be there. He just didn’t get the exposure online as many younger players did. Or the ESPN exposure. He’s been on ESPN, won more than enough to be in, is a great ambassador of our sport, has the respect of his peers. His career just wasn’t well publicized as some other HOF members. He’s been a pro almost 30 years.
But no mistake, he’s correctly in the HOF.
Rocket has a few great things going on right now. He’s just fine.

He was the house pro at my little room here outside of Orlando for awhile. Sadly, I haven’t seen him for a year or two now as he’s moved on to his other endeavors.
A phenomenal player and a real gentleman.
One of if not the most fun guys in pool. Pro or not. Just a blast to hang with. I sat with him at a bar one night for over two hours talking pool stories and drinking. Best time ever in a pool room..
We laughed got buzzed and had a great time. I was hustling on N.Shit Street in Honolulu in 1970. Playing 8 ball on bar boxes with military guys on R & R from Nam. Playing for 5 bucks a game. Told Rodney all about it. I was 18 and a skinny white kid. Rodney was laughing and said he knew I was telling the truth when I called it Shit Street..

PS I should have added N. Shit Street is actually N. Hotel Street and back in 1970 it was seedy bars and strip joints. Pretty rough and tough, I never had any trouble cause the stakes were small and I only took small bites out of the apple...lol

He’s a professional player, I’m aware of his skill. I’m just saying if you look at the other members like Ralph greenleaf, Willie Mosconi, Irving crane, Nick Varner, Mike Sigel. and. many others. He just doesn’t stack up. IMO
Not every baseball player in the Hall of Fame is Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, or Babe Ruth…

I’m not a professional player, so of course he’s better than I am. My point being, compared to his peers who are one the HOF his list of accomplishments doesn’t measure up.
and not everyone in the hof can be michael jordan

No, but players with deserving stats do get in the HOF. 1 US-open isn’t enough. Just my opinion
apparently it is just your opinion
HOF isn't just based on US Opens. He is a multiple time Mosconi Cup player and Mosconi Cup MVP.
