What's with Earl?

Not true...

Smorgass: Actually, "behaviour" is the correct spelling pretty much everywhere except in the US. :) Don't know where Bernie is from.

Rick S: I heard that Earl drove around in a convertible 'vette? Hates to fly. ???

Nope, he isn't afraid to fly. He travels to the far east SEVERAL times a year, as well as to various tournaments here in the states. Last time I saw him he still had the Porsche 911.

Silencer,

I tell you what. Earl's home is right down the street from me. We can meet up at his cousin Mike Simmon's grill that has a few 9' tables. You can have the 6/7/8 or 11-5 playing one pocket. I promise you he won't say a word the whole time. Since that is his whole game, like you say, you must have a chance.

he is potentiially [sic] dangerous.

Your appallingly-written post suggests the same thing about you. It reads like the delusional rantings of the nutter on the bus. Quite apart from the terrible spelling and grammar, have you heard of capital letters or paragraph breaks?
:p

Thanks, although with the exception of what I see on ESPN, I'm not really that familiar with US pool.

One thing that surprised me is that the women's game seems to get more coverage than the men's.

In the UK, men's snooker is still a popular televised sport but women's snooker is in such a slump that the best players have all quit the game.

There's no real men's pro tour in North America. The women are much better organized, and have a valid tour, and hence better TV deals.

Jules forget about ESPN. Try to get accu-stats tapes. Their website www.accu-stats.com for tapes on real pool. Get a catalogue. You will see some great American pool. 9 ball, straight pool, banks, one pocket, and 3 rail. Yes even the great Earl Strickland who wins 4 US Open Championship titles. "Cant play shape"????!!! Lamest post yet. How do you win 4 US Opens without playing shape?

What did you say?

Bernie, may I make a suggestion?

I don't know what your post said, because I couldn't read it, but let me offer some simple advice.

Use paragraphs when you write. Each paragraph should make one and only one point. When you finish a paragraph, re-read it and delete any words/sentences that are not needed to make that point. Restructure your sentences when necessary to make the paragraph shorter. Do this for every paragraph.

When you are finished writing your post, re-read it and delete any paragraphs that are unnecessary to the subject.

If you put a little more effort into your writing, it will be much easier for others to read, and you will find that the responses you receive will be more positive.

You forgot: the first letter of a new sentece has to be upper case. This makes reading easier and you(Bernie) don't appear to be a child before his teens. You know, so much can be read about a person between the lines...
