As an avid pool fan and virtual railbird, I have so many favorite pool moments for 2022. Seeing Francisco Sanchez Ruin win the U.S. Open 9-Ball tournament and Shane Van Boening win his first World Pool Championship were milestone victories that will go down in the pool history books.
When Mosconi Cup Team USA member Tyler Styler missed the 8-ball, handing over the Mosconi Cup win to Team Europe's Joshua Filler was most definitely memorable, but it was what happened afterwards that is something I will never forget. Before celebrating his victory, Joshua immediately walked over to Tyler's corner and hugged him. They exchanged a few words, but it was the sincerity of Mr. Killer Filler that is one of many reasons I am a member of his fan club.
But I think my favorite moment is when Amber Chen won the Predator Canada Open. The look on her face was a combination of shock and joy as she tried to contain her emotions. "I cannot believe it," said Chen through her partner, Robbie Capito.
No matter how much money is won or how big the tin cup, it's that sweet taste of victory that is priceless.
