What's your shot?

I did hit the 2 pretty full from the angle coming into it. The angle I showed in the diagram for the cb's path is probably off some. I don't remember exactly where the 3 ended up, but it was in the open, and that is the close path that it would head to. The only concern I had at the time about the 3 was to make sure it wasn't going to go in somewhere, and that I wouldn't leave it on the rail by the 5.

For the hit on the 2, you want to hit it as close to the center line of the 2-9, but off to the diagrams right side a little. That way, the 2 will still carom off the 9 instead of dying right there, and the cb will not travel very far, but will go forward a little, and to the right in the diagram a little. Off a little on the hit or the speed, and you do have a sell-out happening. I did not like having to shoot this shot at all, but I was thankful to at least get a shot at something.
Nice shot, Neil...and I'm glad you won the tournament.

I've been in trouble on some tables before and sometimes solved the
problem...but the Wei table has me buffaloed. I've even tried to rejoin.
Wei hates me...not the man, the table.

I'm an APA 3 and me and my buddies would have just blasted the two off the rail and hoped for the nine to find a hole and that the cue ball would stay on the table:)

I'm a 1, I'll take the breaks in a race in March at the coast.

I'm one of those suckers you'd like to play. I fall for this every time.

I'd carom off the 2 to make the 9 in the corner. 2 ball would be hit thin and the CB would end up down field for a tough cut if missed.
Draw backs: Only a 6' shot on the safe. Plus a real good chance of a heated argument if the 2 was hit first.

Escaped again!

Neil-Well played! I like these type of posts. Gives us something to think about and discuss.

Usually these are success stories. I'd like to see some where the best option is selected, but things went wrong. Those I can better relate to-except for the 'best option selected' part.

Thanks Neil

Merry Christmas

yes I would agree. my first thought would be can I get the 3 to a rail, and control my speed. excellent shot
