Do you use special extensions and, if so, what length? I have a local player wanting to know what other players are using. I have made extensions for wheelchair players in the past but never kept notes.

He just wants some basic ideas.

I played against a guy in a wheelchair in APA Mini-Mania a couple years ago who used one of these bridges

Otherwise he didn't use any special extensions that I saw. Although, he did have an electric wheelchair that allowed him to raise the chair up when he needed to.

There is a wheelchair player in my area who is a very strong shooter. He uses a standard length cue and/or a bridge. Seems to work good for him. His position play is very different from the norm due to how the cueball needs to be positioned for him to have an optimal shot.

I would think an extension would be nullified due to reach and angle limitations.

Interesting topic...

My regular practice partner is in a chair. He uses the bridge above and a slide on tube (much like the one Johnny Archer uses). He likes the slide on tube because it is easy to use and stores it between his legs when not in use.

When I was watching the wheel chair tourney, most seem to favor a small extendable bridge.

I've seen snooker players with them but with the X bridge on the end.
I imagine you could mount a better bridge on it for him.

there is a guy around here that uses the plastic tube/sleeve that slides over the cue to the buttsleeve and also uses a telescopic bridge because he cant reach some shots on the table. and he is a very good shooter too! not to mention a nice guy.

I've done some officiating for these guys. These guys get it done.

By extensions-the cue extender or bridge extension?

For the cue-I've seen quick release butt extensions of various lengths. And the Hager-slip on type, and the twist-lock down type.

For the bridge-a variety of them, some already shown. The 'captive' kind with wire is popular since lifting the cue lifts the bridge head. The 'just-a-bridge' is cool-but the telescopic bridge extension that it attaches to-spins in place when rotated and won't adjust the bridge via the collet. Other bridges are on rollers, that have a clear acrylic construction with a hole for the cue shaft. This one can be lifted out of the way too since it is a 'captive' device.

Whatever you make for your customer-good job. These are special people doing special things on the pool table.

Google Aaron Aragon if you are not familiar with the name. Everyone of these guys and gals that I have met are uplifting to be around. Even the one a$$hole-go figure.

Good luck, take care and THANKS

ps: Spanky79 sees Aaron -maybe PM him for more info. Tell him 'Will' of Shooters asked you to inquire.

Where can I find the telescopic part for a bridge? I have several guys using the slip on extention so this may be the way to go.

AARON ARagon has 2 different extensions one is about 8 inches the other about 12 inches,
Those are estimated guesses, as I have never measured them.
If you need exact dimensions PM me and I will be happy to call him or measure them the next time I see him.

He is a mulit time world champion, so if it works for him I am sure it works for others.

He also caries a extendable bridge that he just keeps between his legs on his chair.
I have never seen him not be able to reach a ball, unless you put him real deep in the stack playing one pocket.
