What is the best way to aim for this type of shot ? When there is hardly any clearance, alot of time the OB will hit the other ball. Would trying to overcut or using english to try to throw it be the way to go ?

1st table - trying to make the the 8 in the corner. It will just barely pass the 3.

2nd table - same shot only CB farther away.

Bump because of word editing

A couple words were changed in the question in regards to making the shots.

If it passes, I'd just pretend the other ball wasn't there and cut it in.

Is there a trick here?

I suppose you could try to make the 8 jump the edge of the other ball, but that's just about crazy to me.

Trying to "throw" the ball is so low percentage it just causes more problems.

Shoot it in the hole.

NOTE: If you focus on your target ball good things happen. If you focus on your problems then......

If the 8 clears the OB, just shoot it in (sometimes you have to get your vision down to the table level, to see if the ball actually clears the shot). If the 8 was a little further away from the obstructing OB, and it won't quite go by, you could jump the 8ball over the edge of the obstruction. It's a fairly simple shot, expecially if you're straight in on the 8!
