When Efren pushes out - don't give it back

If you're talking about the 9, it was close to dead.

The 9 was close to dead and yet Wu, a former world champion didn't see it and neither did the commentators. You don't see many guys push to a kick combination cross side bank.

One interesting part was before he pushed he casually walked around the table and looked at the shot but didn't want to make it obvious to his opponent. Then after Wu gave it back to him he studied it more carefully.

Smooth operator.

Check Mika Efren match below, at 20:57, watch Mika's reaction for someone asks him to give the shot back to Efren at 21:15. Efren got Mika 7-0 good match.

Thanks for the link! If you want to see the sheer genius and creativity of Efren, go to 23:00. You can see him plotting a possible 4-5 rail kick safety for the 3 ball to put it behind the 6-9 ball. It didn't go quite as planned but just to envision it just makes me shake my head.

just got around to this video. Nice pair of shots from efren. I think his initial walk around the table was
to confirm the 2 was too badly tied up to cut or bank anywhere, so he pushed to to an easy kick,
trusting he would be able to turn any kick to his advantage.

When it got passed back he looked again and said "well, looks like the kick combo bank is on"
and called it just in case.

BTW I don't know of any 10-ball rules where you can call multiple balls.
You have to pick one.

Wouldn't make sense, any extra pocketed balls stay down so if you're positive you're gonna
sink both, you just call either one and the other is gravy.

You don't think Efren saw the 2-9 before he pushed to a kick? I think he did. It would be nearly impossible to kick the 2 and not send the 9 across the table.

The only time I've ever seen guys call two balls in 10 ball was in a local ring game where guys would call the 10 ball on every shot in case it fell. I tried to tell them if they call it and it doesn't fall it's the same as a missed shot but they their had their own set of rules.

In a normal 10 ball game with standard rules it would be stupid to call more than one ball.
