I've heard good things about everyones Vegas pool trips and I'm looking to check it out next year. But when is a good time to go? I know there's a couple different events that happen... I want to watch the pros play 9-ball and check out vendors and play some pool as well. Recommendations? Other tournaments you think would be better to go to other than Vegas?? Thanks :R:

Cy,
The BCA event at the Riviera has a lot to offer: amateur events, men's pro event, women's pro event.

I will also say that if you really love pool; Las Vegas is definitely a BELOW AVERAGE place to attend. Las Vegas has a tremendous amount of entertaining things to do and it is quite expensive. If you are going to spend a bunch of money going to Vegas; it seems more prudent to spend the time doing all of the "Vegas things."

Go to the DCC. Louisville in January does not offer all of the distractions present in Vegas; and there is a TON of pool being played. In addition, there will be FAR MORE gambling action to watch at DCC than Vegas. If you don't already know; the gambling matches are usually more entertaining than the tournament matches. You will see more wide open, offensive, and spectacular play during an "ahead" gambling set than you will in a short race 9-ball match. In tournament play you will see many world-beaters avoid taking any shot their grandmother could not make; in the action room these same players will treat you to an offensive display since they have the opportunity to rebound from the loss of a single game or two. Just visited the Derby City Classic website. I'm pretty excited about the whole thing, not to mention that Kentucky is just a couple hours drive from where I live. Definitely something to really look forward to.

Yours Truly,

Hmmm

Thanks for all the input. Sounds like the DCC is the better option. Anyone recommend local a local hotel to stay at as the Exec. West Hotel is all booked up for that week. Or any other info I may need for a first timer?
