His name should be spoken as one of the greatest to ever play the game. I've never had the pleasure of playing snooker but I still love watching him play

you should find a table. if i play snooker for two hours and jump on a 9 footer, the balls seems like bowling balls. snooker players are superior shot makers, although to play pool you need more skills and tricks. both are great games.

Oh how I miss that feeling. Wish my buddies would give it try, but they're sticking to 9ball and won't venture out. Playing snooker really sharpened my aiming and yeah, balls on a 9 footer afterwards do seem like bowling balls. LOL.

The whole video was great to watch. And the crowd, nice turn out.

ronnie is an absolute legend. if he had the dedication to practice and training that he has found late in his career, there would be no discussion of whether he was the best to ever pick up a cue. the man is a technician, but don't doubt him. he's got plenty of tricks and skills too. i'm fortunate enough to at least have a 10' snooker table (ancient brunswick) in the room i shoot in here. it's definitely where i go when things are just a little off. there are few things better for straightening out a stroke.

I had the pleasure of playing him about 10 years ago. I won a regional junior snooker tournament and first place was a bit of cash and an exhibition to play a frame against Hendry and Ronnie. Never will forget it. I spent the entire frame in a day dream just thinking about how can someone possibly get that good.

Did he seriously just do the heavy metal tongue wag during a snooker tournament. Lost all respect for him... :p

In watching both great 147's posted above I've noticed something. Commentators in Snooker love to say "come on" a lot, hoping and praying for the 147. "Come on, Ronnie... Come on, Ronnie..." Both videos feature this.

And if you go back and watch the first televised 147, by Steve Davis, it features probably 20 utterances on "Come on, Steve..."

Not a criticism, just an observation. Must be a common phrase in the UK.

You are kidding, right, Mr BR? Sarcasm - humor - tongue in cheek perhaps? Surely you aren't serious with that last comment of yours....

And this is why some of us believe that RS could play world class Pool in 3 months. He's just that good.

I played a lot of snooker when I was younger as every room had at least one, and most had several. He makes the game look like anyone could get up there and run balls, when in fact, it couldn't be further from the truth. I watch most tournaments on hahasports when I can, especially if he is involved. Talented to the extreme.

world class

No question that Ronnie plays world class when he gets on a pool table. A gnat's rear behind the very best though. I watched a video last night from years back of him shooting pool with his snooker stick. Great cue ball control and shot making. Perhaps it is patterns and strategy where he falls a little short, perhaps he doesn't quite have the confidence playing the very best although that would seem odd. Didn't he take a little go at pool back during IPT days or am I mistaken?

I used to practice on the snooker table too. Already played mostly a 14.1 style of tight play and little cue ball movement, the time on the snooker table just made me play more so.

I had a small time pool hustler staying with me a few days and took him to the snooker table one afternoon. Like most pool players who had never tried snooker he looked ridiculous and cursed the table for awhile. After forty-five minutes or so he had settled down and was making a few balls. We stayed on the snooker table another hour or a bit more. From there we went to a place with a busy challenge table, a seven foot bar box. The very first shot he made he looked over at me and grinned! I just said "yeah", no explanation needed of why we went to the snooker table now.
