When to draw the line with cue maker?

Ok, i knuckled under, I accepted his terms to either lose my 900 bucks or just have the cue completed and pay for it in whole (I asked when It would be ready, but no answer) The communication is slow unless it's about his money it would seem.

I told him to finish the cue and give me a time frame when it will be done.

Anybody wanna buy a cheap Cohen cue? :)

that really sucks

i recently had gone through something similar but not over that length of time

luckily i was able to get a fire under his ass with a warning from paypal about a refund , if money from their pocket is not at risk, your basically sol at this point. i hate this shit

Same guy?

@jazznpool You deal w/this scumbag regularly don’t you? I have no part in this other than to say Eddie is my friend for lots of years. I know he is a good and honorable man. A non refundable deposit is self explanitory. I do understand low life people are enthralled with any kind of drama here at AZB. They can sit behind their keyboard and offer their meaningless drivel on anything.
Eddie Cohen has been my good friend for about 20 years. He is a reasonable, fair and honorable man to deal with. I'm proud as hell to be a long time vendor of his new cues. I also have one of his cues to play with an I love it. Eddie won both cuemaker awards at last year's International Cue Collectors show in Oklahoma City.

I have NO INVOLVEMENT here other than to say a non refundable deposit is self explanitory. Best Memorial Day wishes to all AZers!

16 month delivery time is even more self explanatory.

Deposits, even non-refundable, are still subject to the contract stipulations. The cuemaker was in breach of the agreement when he took more than the quoted time. An honorable man would refund the money

boy thats a nice clause isnt it?
i keep your money if i keep giving you reasons i didnt do the job i got paid to do then forget about it years later as i take more money and do other peopls job that also paid but the original posters money isnt as important

Funny how you have cues to sell of his every few months with your “no 3 year wait” but this guys on the hook for 6 years. Yeahhhh, Eddie seems honorable 🙄

Reading this post makes me want to punch Mr. Cohen in the nugs. There is no defense for his actions and anyone defending his honor is idiotic. I found his site and will be using the "contact us" button. I think it would be great to flood the biz with outrage and i will do my part.

Hey messaged me this, I told him that that was ok. He never got back to me, he didn't not contact me for two years. Then he says he wanted to still do the order because he couldn't sell his spot. He already agreed to still take the cue as it will be finished soon.
He knew from the beginning that it was non refundable. If I never built anything he would have gotten his money back a long time ago.
You don't know the whole story so stop making threats.

There is a thread on Azbilliards forum outlining the 6 years a customer has been waiting for his cue. What is wrong with you! I suggested that people contact you with the same outrage i'm feeling. Eddy. You are a fucking asshole! I would love to punch you in your crooked nose. Give the dude back his deposit! This is one of many times you will hear from me.

Now i'm the asshole
Nope, you just didn't read the thread here, and even though you probably meant well, it's both uncalled for and unwanted to go messaging Cohen stuff like that. This thread was just a sanity check from me to see if I'm thinking correctly or if I'm just out there.

I've talked to Eddie and we've reached an agreement, not the ideal agreement for me, but nevertheless an agreement.

I screw up every so often.

Ok, talked to the guy now, he say he owes me nothing since in his way of thinking I "cancelled" the order when I asked him if I due to financial difficulties could sell my spot in the production queue. I contacted him later on and told him I never got around to doing that and I'm ready to proceed. (this was January 2020).

My cue is "almost done" now and I can either pay the rest or forfeit the deposit.

It's Eddie Cohen I'm dealing with.
Did you ask him to send you a photo of your "almost done" cue?

Reasonable, fair, and honorable? He is none of those things. Maybe at one time when his business was under control, but if you see this situation as OK I just don't understand you.
